  • As good as advertised.

"The property was a very nice turn of the century home. House was well outfitted to meet all our needs. This house would be a five star if not for a few minor details. The master bedroom's window A/C unit was not blowing cold air in the 90+ days. This only affected us because our baby slept in there during the day. Due to the angle of the driveway, our party sustained minor damage to two vehicles trying to avoid the busy street side parking. We had to run and exchange a propane tank while bbq'ing because the main & spare tanks were empty. Lastly, although Mr. Patrick (owner) is very friendly, it was a bit offsetting to have him there (using garage as wood shop) from time to time while using the outdoor kitchen. Oh, and as a firefighter (with bachelors in Occupational Safety & Health) I must say the hindrance of paddle locked doors that left only one means of egress on main level, was a bit unnerving."

  • Perfect CO Cabin

"Lovely cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a nice meal for two families. We also really enjoyed the wraparound porch and fire pit area. Best of all, there was a great stream within a 1/4 mile with plenty of 8-12 inch Brown and Brook trout."

  • Extraordinary home retreat!

"This log home provides a grand Colorado experience in a rich, beautiful, warm setting. We brought family together here to celebrate Thanksgiving and enjoyed the spacious and gorgeous architecture and just about everything we needed to enjoy hours of relaxation, games, comfort and just incredible beauty. We just couldn't believe how extraordinary this home was in scale and richness. The rooms are so warm and comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked and accommodated our huge Thanksgiving feast. The wood burning stoves are not only beautiful, but absolutely efficient and we enjoyed the incredible views (inside and out) with the cozy warmth. There are nooks everywhere that just needed a book and cup of coffee. There is a wrap around deck that is just gorgeous and allows you to pick a sunny spot at really any point in the day. There is a sauna that just made the end of the day perfect. The area around the home is beautiful and we enjoyed peaceful walks, for as long as you'd like to take. Also, very important to us was bringing our dog and the owner was completely accommodating to him! There is a huge fenced area for safe roaming and she had dog bowls waiting just for him when we arrived. There were a couple of things that didn't work quite right, including the DVD player. In that particular case, we contacted the owner with this problem and she quickly had another player delivered so that we could have our movie binge, as we had planned. The television downstairs in the rec room area didn't work, but this allowed us to keep it off and enjoy more games together, so we found no real reason to complain. We've stayed in many VRBO rentals and this home just can't be beat in terms of it's unique, grand, log home beauty. We found ourselves staring around at the construction of the home just wondering how they did it. We made memories in a special place and will be back!"

  • Loved my stay!

"My husband and I stayed at Reed's Retreat for an extended weekend, and this condo completely made our trip. Staying in the heart of Manitou was fun and convenient -- particularly the included parking spot! Everything about the condo was great: full kitchen (we mainly just used the fridge, but having the option to cook is great!), new carpet downstairs, two TVs, comfy beds, nice bathroom. We visited a ton of breweries in the area, the zoo and Santa's Workshop, and we wandered around town for ice cream and dinner. Our stay was so nice that we discussed making this a regular trip, and booking Reed's Retreat as our home base. The only drawback was the bar across the street playing loud music until fairly late (after 11 pm) -- not a big deal, and we were able to sleep just fine regardless. We'll be back!"
