  • Too high for us flatlanders

"To high for comfort ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place but definitely off the beaten path. Beautiful home and great views, but be vary cautious if you are a flat lander. This cabin is at 10,665 ft. My wife may dog and myself all got altitude sickness. We were so bad that we left after 3 days and had to go down to Denver. I wish this was stated in the info. We go to this area about once or twice a year staying between 9,000 and 10,000. That extra 600 made a big difference. The other issue we had was with the management company. It was stated on the contract that " We are not responsible for issues with your vehicle or the snow but only for making sure the snowplower plows the driveway( this may not be immediate but he will come)" This did not happen. When we arrived there was 5-6 inches on the sloping drive with a large snowdrift in front of the only open garage space and covering the walkway to the front door. We called but no one came. What we found out was the contract ran out with the person doing the plowing and the management company did not want to deal with it."

  • Great place near some excellent backcountry

"This is a roomy, comfortable apartment, with all amenities as described. Janet is a great host. My terriers and I used this as a base to climb numerous 14ers; the Mt. Sherman trailhead is just a short drive away, and heading towards Breck there's some great backcountry. And don't forget the Buffalo Peaks trailhead just down the road; those are the peaks you see to the SW. In the immediate area of the house there are bristlecone pines and abundant wildlife. The dogs had a lot of fun chasing chipmunks and squirrels through the wood piles. A couple of nights, I could hear coyotes baying close by. Great place."

  • Wonderful Getaway

"This cabin was one of our favorites! It has every modern amenity, but still has the rustic charm that a mountain cabin should have. Cozy and quiet, it was just what our family needed to escape and unwind for a few days."

  • Great Place!

"The Willis retreat house was perfect. Beautiful split level house with a large living area and kitchen. There were 7 of us, 4 adults, a teenager, and a 5 and 3 year old (oh and 1 little dog). The place fit us perfectly. The teenager had the bonus game room all to himself. The kids got the bunk beds. And the adults got the 2 other rooms. Everything we needed was provided, dishes, towels, sheets, etc. We had a blast hiking, exploring, and sledding. Only 45-60 minutes away from Breckenridge."
