  • Great for two families!!

"Our two families (4 adults & 5 teenagers) enjoyed celebrating Christmas at Chocolate Moose Lodge!! It was decorated beautifully for the holidays...lights, a tree, garlands, Christmas decor throughout...very festive!! The home is located in a private gated community. We enjoyed long walks, not just on the roads around the home but on the trails through the open space leading to the National Forest. The kitchen is very well appointed. We found everything we needed (measuring cups, serving bowls) and never lacked utensils, plates or glasses/cups. One of the reasons we rented this home is because of the bedroom configurations. And it couldn't have worked better!! The rooms the teens used were fabulous because they each had three twin beds...which meant everyone had their own bed!!! Plus it is always nice to have two master suites. The hot tub is a great amenity. The nine of us have already discussed coming back here for another mountain getaway!!"

  • Great cabin in the woods

"This house has a great layout, we had 5 adults and everyone fit comfortably. The cabin has a beautiful setting and the hot tub on the deck is a nice place to enjoy the scenery. The drive to Breckenridge is about an hour over Hoosier pass, but is an easy drive. We did have some issues with the water pump when we arrived, but Amy was quick to respond to our text messages and we fixed it within a few hours. If you have AT&T as a cell phone carrier don't expect to have any service while you are here. The cabin dose have wifi, but it can be slow at times. Over all this is a great cabin in the woods and a wonderful get away, complete with board games, video games and a hot tub for relaxing!"

  • Too high for us flatlanders

"To high for comfort ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place but definitely off the beaten path. Beautiful home and great views, but be vary cautious if you are a flat lander. This cabin is at 10,665 ft. My wife may dog and myself all got altitude sickness. We were so bad that we left after 3 days and had to go down to Denver. I wish this was stated in the info. We go to this area about once or twice a year staying between 9,000 and 10,000. That extra 600 made a big difference. The other issue we had was with the management company. It was stated on the contract that " We are not responsible for issues with your vehicle or the snow but only for making sure the snowplower plows the driveway( this may not be immediate but he will come)" This did not happen. When we arrived there was 5-6 inches on the sloping drive with a large snowdrift in front of the only open garage space and covering the walkway to the front door. We called but no one came. What we found out was the contract ran out with the person doing the plowing and the management company did not want to deal with it."

  • This Cabin was perfect!

"My wife and I wanted to get out of the Heat for the Christmas holiday and spent the week there after Christmas including New Year's. We were blessed to have snow on the 1st day of our trip! We rented a four-wheel drive Jeep Wrangler empik a couple trips to Breckenridge for snowboarding and snowmobiling which was only about 40 minutes away. The cabin was exactly as described and felt like we were miles away from civilization! Although there were a lot of beautiful cabins that we passed on the way to this property, this was at the very end of of the road which gave my wife and I the seclusion we were looking for. The owners knew we were from Tampa and we're worried about us getting altitude sickness and we're willing to be flexible with our dates in case we didnt feel wellwhich was much appreciated. Fortunately, we didn't have any problems. We didn't want to leave and are really looking forward to going back during the summer!"
