  • Private and Quiet

"Our family of 4 (including two teen boys) stayed at Mark's quaint carriage house 3 nights. Great experience! Even though you're in a residential neighborhood, we never heard any neighbors and the layout is extremely private. Easy, ample parking. Deer were right outside the kitchen window every morning. This little home lives big due to there being two stories, and it's well-stocked/equipped. Mark and his son Chris (who filled in when Mark was away) were both a pleasure to deal with. Couldn't get the DVD player to work, and it was fixed immediately after a phone call. Chris was spot-on with his recommendations for good, casual, family restaurants----both Front Range Barbecue (Southern BBQ with a great vibe-about 12 minutes away in Old Colorado City) and Panino's nearby for Italian. We already knew about Jake and Telly's (Greek) in Old Colorado City and had a great "date night" one night. (Their sauteed calamari is a must try!) We enjoyed the close proximity to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, hiking in Stratton Open Space, and taking a tour of historic Glen Eyrie Castle. Only downside was the master bedroom has a curtain instead of a solid door to close for privacy, but it really wasn't an issue for us. I actually liked the curtain! The side garden must be stunning in summer!"

  • Cozy cabin in beautiful, peaceful surroundings; perfect for a couple

"We spent ten days in this nice little cabin in Green Mountain Falls in October. It was our first vacation in Colorado and we loved everything about it! The cabin is very cozy and has everything you need for a pleasant vacation. We loved the deck (unfortunately, it faces to the north, so you don't get too much sunshine - which is nice in summer, but not in October! ;-) and the Hollywood swing. The cabin is nicely furnished (loved the leather recliner chair!!) and is perfect for a couple. Although it sleeps theoretically up to 6 people, we would not recommend it for more than 2 adults and 2 childs max. We could have used a little more dishes and glasses, but that is not a big deal. The mattress in the master bed room is super comfortable and so is the sofa in the living room. We especially liked the fact that the cabin was well equipped with things like toilet paper, hand soap, detergents and even spices, sugar, alu foil etc. It really helps if you do not have to buy all these things at the start of your vacation. - The surroundings of Borelli no. 2 are really nice. It is perfectly quiet and lets you wind down totally from stressful everyday life. Green Mountain Falls is a nice little town, and there is a lot to do and see in the area. We went up to Pikes Peak, visited the Garden of the Gods, Mueller State Park, Florissant Fossil Beds, and also took a trip to the Royal Gorge bridge, all of which is relatively close to GMF. We would definitely recommend this cabin to friends and would also consider coming back for another great Colorado vacation! After we left, our deposit was refunded promptly within 10 days, so there is really nothing to complain about!"

  • Clean, comfortable, well maintained house in a great neighborhood.

"This house is as described. The main level has two well furnished bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds, a great sitting area/living room, bathroom with tub/shower and well equipped kitchen with an adjacent dining area. The main bedroom has a great study adjacent with a desk and sitting area. The house is craftsman style with great light. The basement is finished, but is more of a "ski lodge" type feel - not the same standard as the main level. There is one enclosed bedroom in the basement with two single beds and two more single beds in an open area. There is a full bathroom downstairs. Basement is great for kids/overflow but has the central heating, water heater, ducts etc, much less light and as stated not the same finish as main level. The house is in a great, historic neighborhood on a quiet street. It is a few blocks away from the Fine Arts Center and Colorado College which has a beautiful campus and about a 15-20 minute pleasant walk to downtown with shops, restaurants and a movie theater. Overall, a clean, well maintained property in a great location. Owner is easy to work with and responsive. Would not hesitate to return."
