  • Best Family Vaction

"This was our 5th stay at Bender's Cabin. Marilyn's welcoming hospitality is second to none, she is kind and well-prepared for any event. This peaceful, well-kept, spacious mountain cabin has been such a comfortable and charming respite after long days traveling. Marilyn has thought of everything; there are extras of everything-well-stocked, and no need goes unnoticed. We loved having access to the garage for our fishing stuff. The kids enjoyed walking to the park to play, and running off energy in the yard. After hiking, white water rafting, and shopping downtown, it was nice to come "home" and pop in a DVD to relax before bed with the kids. The large, flat screen TVs were a hit! The good wi-fi signal made it a snap to plan our next days' events as well. What a perfect family retreat! We look forward to coming back again. Thank you Marilyn for a wonderful stay!"

  • Cozy and Great Location

"We were in town for the Brewers Rendezvous Festival. The location is awesome. We were across from Alpine Park. You can head there for the farmers market. The place is cute and cozy. There were just 2 of us. We should have brought our dog, next time. We enjoyed the wine. There were fresh flowers to welcome us. Thank-you!. Everything was great. We appreciate the portable AC unit. It was crazy hot the weekend we were there. At night, it cooled down great. We enjoyed the back patio and met neighbors. Very friendly hood. We would be back again with our dog for sure. Thanks"

  • Cozy, yet spacious; luxurious yet rustic; close to everything, yet seemingly secluded . . .Perfect!

"The owners have obviously put a lot of thought into the renovation of this little cottage down to the last decorating and functional detail, like instant warmth from the heater on a cool fall day, great water pressure, a sumptuous bath mat under your toes when you step out of your shower, and the kind of fluffy bedding that makes you think twice about getting out of bed in the morning to enjoy all of the great activities this area has to offer. If you happen to ban cooking from your vacation list of things to do, like we did, the best breakfast in town is a short walk down the road to Patio Pancakes. If you'd rather enjoy the sparkling river running by, the grill is just outside your back door, with stream-side chairs and tables on the lawn umbrellad by the towering cottonwood trees. And the host offers coffee, tea, and, yes, even real Half&Half in the fridge for that decadent touch. As a decorator, I always think about how I would design things differently, but here, hardly a thing would change. Lovely cottage; quality stay; book it if you can!"

  • Great spot right in town

"This is a great historic flat right in downtown Salida. I stayed there for a month on a work trip and felt right at home. Walk to tons of restaurants and grocery. You are on the main drag for Salida so you will get some street noise typical with living in an urban environment. I would definitely stay here again. Brett"
