  • What a Gem!

"This little house is a gem! The location is great! It is close to the riverwalk and an easy walk to town. The bed was very comfortable and we loved sitting on the sunny back porch!"

  • Much needed getaway in the perfect location!!

"Definitely recommend this place for a secluded getaway with beautiful scenery. To start with we spoke with Shelly on the phone. She was very helpful with any questions we had and worked with us on a last minute reservation. We flew into Fremont Co airport and drove the beautiful 1 hour drive through the Royal Gorge in to the cabin. There is another airport just south of Westcliffe for small aircraft but did not offer rental cars (Silverwest Airport). The cabin was easy to find and very secluded. No other homes were visible from this cabin. Mountains were a great view to wake up to every morning from the upstairs loft. The upstairs balcony was also a great place to view all the stars at night from the clear sky! Cabin was clean, well decorated, and setup great for multiple uses. Was plenty of room for our family of 4 but probably could have handled a family of 6-8 easily with all the fold out couches and futons. Board games and tons of DVD movies to watch while relaxing around the wood burning stove. Everything you need for cooking meals in the kitchen, very well stocked, including outdoor grill. We did a hike on the state property that is a short walk directly behind the property. All of your essentials for food, laundry, etc. are just a short drive away (about 10-15 minutes) in the quaint town of Westcliffe. Deer and turkey came right by the cabin every day and did not seem to be scared away by us. One of the other reviewers on here made mention about having to run the dishwasher prior to leaving. If I stay at a cabin I expect to clean up after myself a little, it is not a Motel 6. Do not let this worry you. You will not be disappointed with the property. The location and cabin itself are excellent. We look forward to staying here again in the future!!"

  • A True Old Fashioned Christmas

"Our family had a wonderful Christmas. It felt like home with all the lovely Christmas decorations. We cooked everyday and never had to search for utensils. All the games, toys, air hockey, pool table kept our group from 2 ½ to 76 busy and entertained. We hiked, used the shooting range and took the train ride in town. The house (we truly must say home) was everything that was described in the listing and more. It was clean, well stocked with activities for all of us. Best of all, we woke on Christmas day to a lovely white snow, and to our surprise a plowed driveway all ready for us to head out the next day on one of our adventures. It is a lovely house in beautiful surroundings and a great location for visiting the local sites. Thank you, The Volk Family"

  • Great relaxing stay in a great little cabin.

"Absolutely great!! We spent our days hunting and our nights at the cabin. This cabin was clean and very quite. We were able to meet some very nice people in the area and gained life long friendships. If your looking for a clean quite place you need to come here."
