  • Great and easy stay

"We had a great stay with location being great for all the area has to offer. Neighbors to the south were very nice, house was quaint and exactly what we wanted. Would recommend to friends/family."

  • Great Log Home

"This was our first VRBO experience and it was wonderful! The house was everything as described, very clean, full kitchen, beautiful views, wildlife viewing every day, and very comfortable! The huge deck was our personal favorite place to hang out in the morning with a cup of coffee or relaxing with a glass of wine after a busy day hiking around the Florissant Fossil Beds. The house is in a great location being just a couple of blocks off the paved road. We definitely recommend this for your next vacation!"

  • A charming old home with little tiny bathrooms in unusual places

"My husband and I and another couple (all of us in our 70's, but still active and in good shape) rented this home for a long holiday weekend. We were attracted to it because it was so close to The Broadmoor. The description on VRBO is exactly like it is, but I would not recommend this house to older people. There are many steep rocky steps in the front, and inside two staircases that have low ceilings. The main floor and the master bedroom and bath are just great. The kitchen is wonderful, and there are two large outdoor patios. It's just like being in a treehouse. We saw a deer in the backyard and squirrels. One bedroom is in the basement and it is comfy, but there is no attached bathroom. The nearest one is up a flight of stairs and is next to the kitchen. The other bathroom is upstairs ....up a narrow low ceiling flight of stairs...and has twin beds and a bed on the floor. The bathroom up there has a shower, but it is tiny and you must sit down and use a hand shower. At first we were dismayed, but we decided to relax and make the best of it, and we had a great time!! This house would be perfect for a couple with children. I am sure the stairs and the small bathrooms would be perfect for them. And it is in great shape and a wonderful location. Mark is a great host."

  • Charming Little Home Away From Home

"We are beginning our last week (of 7 weeks) here and I can honestly say that we had one of the most wonderful summers! While this is an older home, it has been kept in decent condition and feels comfortable and safe. Upon arrival, it was clean and welcoming. The outdoors area was also clean and well-manicured. Any cleaning supplies we needed (as our stay is nearly two months) were provided. Lori even went as far as dropping by her personal vacuum cleaner when the one in-unit needed a replacement bag. Lori was an absolute pleasure to have as a landlord. She was very attentive and accommodating to our needs. She was always available to us via text, e-mail, phone, and in-person, but was also very considerate of our privacy. She definitely went out of her way to ensure we felt at home while staying in her house and she succeeded because we don't want to leave! The house is absolutely adorable! It's small and intimate, making it ideal for couples, but is still large enough to accommodate company for a weekend. (We were able to have two guests sleep in the guest room while two others slept on the pull-out sofa). Both bedrooms are small, but are still large enough to enjoy and provide ample storage. The living space isn't huge, but the outdoors living space certainly makes up for that! My fiance worked from his laptop outside nearly every day and the enclosed backyard was thoroughly enjoyed by our pup. The washer and dryer are located in the basement (which is only accessible through an outside cellar door), but this feature did not pose a problem to us at all. The washer and dryer both worked well, but we discovered that the timed setting was the most effective drying option and would recommend that to future guests. The location of the house was especially convenient. We have our own car, but we took advantage of the beautiful weather and actually elected to walk to Safeway, Walgreens, Edelweiss, and several other nearby establishments. (It was about a 10-15 minute walk to most of the stores). In addition to shopping, there is an abundance of nature areas to enjoy. Stratton Open Space is less than a 10 minute drive, while Red Rocks, 7 Bridges, 7 Falls, and Garden of the Gods (to name only a few) are all less than 20 minutes away. If biking, hiking, or running are on your agenda, then you'll definitely get your fix of that here! Overall, we would highly recommend this house as a home away from home."
