  • Crestone Sanctuary - off Baca Grande

"Great property, quiet area and nicely maintained. What fantastics views to do some Night Skywatching and also to see some rainstorms roll over the mountains behind us. Nice proximity to Sangre de Cristo hiking trails and the national dunes parks. would do it all over again. Kathy and Kress Rossmann"

  • Quaint, Clean and Well-stocked Getaway

"My son, wife, her mother, sister and I really enjoyed our time at the Dorito Verde. The cabin is modern, yet rustic. The wood-burning fireplace was very pleasant and the firewood plentiful. The building features an open concept kitchen, dining area, living room and entry, with bedroom balconies on the second floor looking down on the living room. While very open, the bathrooms and second floor bedrooms feature doors and locks offering adequate privacy. All appliances were in good working order (near new condition) and we were happy to take advantage of the dishwasher. For those absolutely in need of occasional Internet connectivity, the WiFi features pretty decent speed. I think we were getting something like 3Mbps downstream and 1+Mbps upstream. If it slows down, just reboot the router per the voluminous guide book the owners have provided. The book literally provides pretty much everything you need to know when visiting the area. While we chose to dine in for most of our stay, we ate one night in Westcliffe at a place called Chappys. Like the cabin, it was quaint and comfortable and the food was good. If you feel like cooking, though, just hit the Westcliffe grocery store for provisions. We recommend doing this after visiting the cabin, however, since you will find a large number of spices, olive oils, etc., in the cabin pantry. Overall, we highly recommend and would stay again."

  • DON'T STAY HERE!!!!! (Just kidding)

"Don't stay here, so I and my family can go back! There were 6 of us. More than enough room. Wonderful out of the way location (our gps found it easily). The view is about the best I've seen. Very comfortable and well furnished. Many simple supplies are already there (foil, salt and pepper, jam, paper towels). Wonderful gas fireplace in the great room and the master suite (I need to get one for my office). Enjoyed the dry sauna. Well worth the money. Treat your family. They will appreciate it."
