  • Everything We Hoped For

"Our stay at River Cottage was everything we hoped for. It was located a few miles away from South Fork and easy to get to. River Cottage provided all of the comforts of home, a back deck just steps away from the Rio Grande River, a gas grill on the deck, hammocks for relaxation, and the privacy of a vacation home. We enjoyed fishing right out the back door, several day trips to lakes less than an hour's drive away, shopping in Creede, and a raft trip that went right past our cabin during our stay. On our last full day, the water pump went out. It just took a quick call the the property managers and by the afternoon the water was back on. I highly recommend vacationing at River Cottage."

  • Wonderful Christmas Vacation

"My family and I stayed here for Christmas and it was wonderful! We couldn't have asked for a more idyllic white Christmas. Everything about this cabin was cozy and comfortable, and it reminded me of visiting my grandparent's cabin when I was a kid. The views from the porch were beautiful, and the Christmas lights on the cabin added to the festive feel. There was plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing if they wanted, and plenty of activities to occupy our time. By the end of our trip, no one wanted to leave! I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful mountain getaway. My only recommendation would be to make sure you take a 4-wheel drive or AWD vehicle when visiting the cabin in the winter; getting up the driveway in the snow will be impossible if you don't have 4-wheel or AWD. My husband and I are already making plans to come back to this cabin when the weather is a bit warmer."

  • BREATHTAKING!

"Our 3 night stay from August 31 to September 3rd, 2016 was not enough time at this beautiful house. The amenities are great, the views are beautiful and being able to sleep with the windows open on a summers night brought back so many memories of my childhood. We were a group of 10 middle aged adults and every single one of us was simply not ready to leave this beautiful home. A couple of the ladies took a hike, some of us just sat around and enjoyed nature from the balconies. The beds were very comfortable, my husband and I made all the reservations for our group trip so we had the honor of the master bedroom. My husband utilized the Sauna and the Jacuzzi tub, most relaxing was his response. We cook breakfast and dinner, the kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, baking dishes, everything we needed was available including spices. We were pleasantly surprised to have shampoo and conditioner, as well as laundry detergent. Overall we look forward to returning to this little piece of Heaven. The Casiano Group"

  • Everything you need for a perfect vacation!

"We LOVED our stay at this home in Buena Vista. Steve and Nicole had thought through everything in preparing for guests. We had grandparents, small children, and young men, and in the home and around the area we found plenty to keep everyone happy for more than a week! The set-up of the home was great for a family gathering - we could all be together and not feel at all crowded, but we could also each have a spot of privacy. The porch and its views are amazing, there's a garage for two cars, the kitchen is well-appointed, and we even got to watch some of the Olympics each night with the satellite TV. If you are into hiking, you can't get more centrally located for dozens of beautiful hikes for everyone from the most-out-of-shape to the peak-bagger - one of us climbed 3 14ers in 3 days! The town has a grocery store and Family Dollar - we didn't have to go farther for anything we needed. The breweries, restaurants, and parks are great too. I couldn't recommend this home more highly. Thanks!"
