  • Great Property and location

"I wish I could give 4 1/2 stars. :) We stayed at this house for USAFA Parent's Weekend. The location is very close t the academy. The house is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked. :) There are also enough towels, sheets, and covers. :) Our only complaint is that the bed in the master bedroom was not very comfortable and made noise whenever one of us would roll over in the middle of the night....thus waking the other up. :) We solved that problem by putting our son in that room. :) Problem solved. I definitely recommend this property and will probably stay there again. :)"

  • the best of the best in colorado

"For many years we have taken our children and grandchildren (9) on a ski trip and this home is absolutely the most beautiful and accommodating that we have ever experienced. Deborah, the owner was incredibly helpful from the day that we reserved until the day that we left. Her attention to detail is remarkable which meant that we spent zero time running to the store for extras - they were all provided. The layout allows the entire family to be together and yet have complete quiet and privacy. This is rather important for gramma and grandpa as this many children have an abundance of energy but have loads of places to use it up. When we were not skiing, they ran around the beautiful property playing all sorts of games and bedtime was a snap. We would have given this home a 6 star rating if we had the option. We highly suggest that you check this property out! I promise you will be thrilled. Paul and Wendy"

  • Lovely location & well-appointed cabin

"We had a really lovely time staying at this mountain home! LOCATION: Near Divide, Colorado, it was 'in the middle' of all of the area activities we were wanting to do & we enjoyed returning each day to a quiet place in a serene setting & the ability to cook our own meals & pack our own picnics, thus saving a lot of money & time from restaurants! PROPERTY: This property was very clean & well maintained & organized! The cabin itself is very nicely laid out with 2 bedrooms (1 double/1 king), living, bath (shower/toilet/sink), and kitchen/dining on the lower floor. The upper floor has a large bedroom with a double & 2 twin beds in it & a little loft with love seat & bookshelf full of games. Not sure the Pikes Peak view is still quite so clear from the deck. FURNISHINGS: It was nice to see someone didn't just throw in their leftovers or head to Walmart to furnish this property! Although some of the bed linens & pillows could use replacing, there was a lovely supply of quilts, towels, dish towels, etc, all in good condition. The kitchen was well-appointed, with nice pots & utensils, although a medium sized skillet would've been nice & one of the large ones was very scratched up. There were no larger mixing bowls...only a small one. There were your basic salt & pepper, coffee filters, and plastic wrap, Al foil, etc left likely from others. We added wooden spoons because most utensils were plastic & not good for high heat cooking & a set of measuring cups, because what was there was incomplete. But there were a lot of things in the cabinets, like crock pots, hand mixer, blender, etc that some might find useful...although it's possible they're just taking up space! There wasn't a lot of cabinet space, though, to put your own food when you arrived...we rearranged to help with this a bit. It would be nice if all the dinnerware matched to make it easier to retrieve & store....and something with not such deep cereal bowls! Why we didn't rate it 5 stars: The condition/need for items mentioned above (linens needing replacement, some minor kitchen things) and the fact that the den area only has seating space for 4. The seals on the large windows that look from the den into the forest are broken, so much of the time there was condensate covering about 1/4 of the lower windows, obstructing the view. Even in this case, we would still recommend this property to others looking at this area & consider it ourselves should we return to this area."

  • Great home with great location!!

"We rented this home for a "spring break get away" and it was perfect! It was an enjoyable walk to downtown Salida. The house was very comfortable and tastefully decorated! The beds were great, well stocked kitchen easy to cook in. If it would have been summer or warmer weather we would have loved to sit and relax in the great backyard. B, D, & T"
