  • A Very Special Property!

"As newlyweds in 1968, my husband and I lived in a tiny apartment inside this house while he was stationed at Fort Carson. For us, it is a wonderful, nostalgic experience to be able to stay in it again. This is the second time we have rented Cedar House since it became a vacation property. This time, we brought our children, grandchildren, and son-in-law so they could see the beautiful area in and around Colorado Springs. One of our daughters spent the first 2 months of her life in this house. So, it was especially meaningful to be here again. The location of the house is perfect for visiting all of the breathtaking attractions in the area, including Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, and Skyline Drive. At Cave of the Winds, there is an amazing rope and beam structure called the Wind Walker which stretches over the canyon. Don't miss it! The grandchildren absolutely loved it! The towns of Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs are also nearby, and definitely worth a visit. Old Colorado Springs has some great restaurants and a wonderful chocolate shop that you should definitely check out! With 5 bedrooms, the house easily accommodated all 7 of us with lots of space to spread out. Since there are 3 full bathrooms, each family was able to have their own. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you could possibly need, and the entire property was exactly as described in the VRBO listing. Communication with the rental agents was great. Every question was answered promptly and in a friendly manner. We highly recommend this property if you want a large place to stay in a very convenient location. This house holds a very special place in our hearts, and always will!"

  • Large Spacious Home In The Country!

"This Rocky Mountain remote home is located just off US24 near Hartsel. The home is located about 2 miles off US24 and be prepared to drive slow on the maintained dirt roads to the home. While the location of this home served us just fine we found that it felt a little further than we originally had planned on being. Keep in mind where the traveling to sights around Colorado it will take you longer due to mountain roads. Our main purpose for spending two weeks in Colorado was so my Husband and his buddy could off road dirt bike. We had 2 families- 4 adults and 5 kids. 1-10 yr old, 1-15 yr old, 2-16 yr olds, & 1-18 yr old. One thing I would have liked prior to arrival was exactly how the home was laid out. If you are looking for a HUGE home to accommodate you then stay here. The main floor has a formal dining room, living room, kitchen, den (tv room), laundry room, Master bedroom, TV & a jack n jill bathroom. The upper level has a loft area with tv, sofas & sitting areas as well as a full size bed tucked in the corner, 2nd bedroom with king bed with a small balcony, 3rd bedroom with queen size bed, 2nd full size bath, and a Mother in Law Suite featuring a Full Bath and an open area with dinning area, living area with sofa, chairs & TV, kitchen, and a full size bed tucked in the corner. The fuse ball table was used nightly too. Playstation only had on remote controller. Plenty of space & things to keep you busy. Internet was a bit frustrating. It didn't work very good & we think it's because the router is located in the MIL Suite. Maybe an updated router & a booster would help. I was able to get AT&T cell service on occasion. The home is overloaded, packed full of stuff including the garage. Pictures on every inch of every wall, knickknacks, wreaths, etc. Lots of stuff. Lots of dust as there is no way you can dust that many items on a regular basis. Again it didn't effect us really & we kind of got used to it. One thing to keep in mind- you'll probably find a mouse in the house. He does provide lots of traps just in case. We caught one in the kitchen. We hiked up the back side of the mountain on the HOA trail. Views were really cool. We heard a mountain lion 2 nights in a row. We presume it was a female screaming (mating call). It was crazy! Deer, rabbits, cows all right the front door. There is a new home being built next to this house. You could hear the noise but they didn't start too early thankfully. Overall we were satisfied with our stay."

  • Cute, Cozy Cabin perfect for a Colorado Getaway!

"This Cabin was a great home base for a Mt. Elbert climb and some white water rafting, and minutes away from Leadville. A nice front porch or back deck were perfect choices for that morning coffee. The cabin came nicely equipped with linens and cleaning supplies. The washer and dryer worked perfectly, and the kitchen had all the necessary items to help you make your own home cooked meals. There was a huge refrigerator, and the hanging television by the wood burning stove was perfect to watch the Olympics after the day's activities. Wireless internet and Dish Network were included and appreciated by our party of 4, 2 fathers and 2 sons enjoying a Colorado adventure. The cabin utilized it's square footage nicely, and the loft was a fun hideaway to sleep 2 comfortably. There were even 2 axes to split wood for fire in the stove, or in the ring outside. There was plenty of great firewood covered up from the elements to make this possible. We could tell the owner cared about the furnishings and amenities for her guests. The owner was fantastic at responding to our questions and returned emails promptly and also supplied her cell number should we have needed to talk to her directly. We had an awesome time and would definitely come back. Perhaps a winter trip to enjoy the coziness around the wood burning stove or some snow shoeing on nearby trails. That should be easier than our trip to the summit, 7 minutes of pictures, and our race down to beat the oncoming thunderstorm... Thanks for helping us make some good memories!"
