  • Large and accommodating

"I'm a Durango local but needed housing for my family who was attending their son's wedding. The spacious townhome accommodated a large number of people. A large, fully equipped kitchen helped immensely. Renters should know that most Durango properties do not have air conditioning. This is usually not a problem because temps get low during the night and keep things very cool. However, the townhome owners also provide two portable evaporative coolers and fans to help. Had all the amenities we needed including washer/dryer and wifi. A bonus is that a small market called PJs is only a mile away. It has a variety of gourmet items plus all the staples from canned goods to dairy to frozen foods. The adjacent golf course restaurant -- Swing -- is also first-class and has an amazing menu that almost beats the incredible views."

  • Purgatory Condo--Lovely View & Nicely Updated Kitchen Cabinets & Fireplace Surround; roomy, clean

"We stayed in this 2 BDR Angelhaus condo at Purgatory during the Christmas Holidays 2015 and found it convenient for our family of four for staying on the mountain and skiing. The owners have put in new cabinets in the well-stocked kitchen and remodeled the fireplace surround including a flat-screen TV. The baseboard heat and the fireplace kept us nicely warm & cozy. The condo is a “shoes off” home (leave shoes by the front door) so the carpet was nice and clean. There are sliding glass doors to the patio with a lovely view out over the surrounding snowy mountains. The kitchen is well-stocked and we were able to cook all our meals in the condo. There are plenty of pots, pans, plates and baking dishes, and even a crockpot. During our stay, many spices, condiments, and assorted tea bags were already stocked in the cabinets. The management company also supplied us with a little basket of healthy snacks/candy as a treat. The living area has a comfortable sofa with reclining seats and another chair for comfortable seating for four and a kitchen table with seating for six. For a mountain condo the bedrooms were good sized and both had their own private baths attached. The bedroom furnishings and the bathroom fixtures appear to be original from when this condo was built in the 80s so they are older but function. Overall, the condo met our needs and we enjoyed our stay. A few updates to the kitchen and baths would make it better. The dishwasher did not do a good job. They must have really hard water in the area. The plates had a white residue that felt like a powder-coating on them and the glasses were cloudy. Hand washing the dishes, adding vinegar to the water, helped. Also, we were asked to not use the garbage disposal because of the old plumbing. The bathroom fixtures also showed signs of minerals in the water and the master tub, while showering, drained poorly. The condo offers internet access but the connection location (on the kitchen counter) was inconvenient. In addition, you should be prepared for the poor cell coverage (AT&T) at Purgatory. We could rarely make a call or send a text and there is no landline phone in this condo. The location of this condo was convenient, only a short walk to the nearest lift. There is parking right out front for condo guests. This top-floor condo was very quiet even during the busy Christmas season."

  • Lovely home in a beautiful setting.

"Truley a lovely home that sits on a very peaceful 2 acres surrounded by amazing views of the canyon! The home itself was spacious and comfortable for our family of 5 with large picture windows to take in the views. The owners have anticipated the needs of the weary city life dweller and created perfect little outdoor spaces where you can't help but take in the natural beauty and finally relax. We can't wait to return!"

Beautiful views, and great access for ski in/ski out, which was perfect w 4 little kids. They loved the pool at the private club w the water slide. We would definitely stay here again."
