  • Fun Mountain Lodge

"We had a great family vacation at this house! Loved the location- in the mountains on the creek but close to downtown Durango. The layout worked well for us with different suites on each floor and the mountain lodge décor is very comfortable and cozy . We had fun hiking up the hill behind the house to the mushroom rocks and hanging out outside on the decks and patio."

  • Beautiful house

"We thought the house was great! This is what we want our house to be when it grows up. Excellent dog run too...our fur kids loved exploring the bushes."

  • Perfect quiet location

"We enjoyed a quiet week here in mid-august and had a great time. Being from Oklahoma, we really enjoyed the early morning temperatures in the 40's. I cannot emphasize enough how quiet and peaceful it is here. Sometimes you can hear critters outside in the middle of the night. Most other cabins is the area appear to be permanent residences so it is very quiet, clean and well-kept. We enjoyed the 20 minute drive to Durango and the scenery...never tired of it. Awesome! Note that there is virtually no cellular service (AT&T) at the cabin. When we arrived and the Wi-Fi did not work (owner fixed it quickly), we hoped to use our cell phone hotspots to get online but were not able to get service. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of. The cabin itself is very nice. Well-equipped with everything you will need. It is a "shoes off" cabin which is not typical of cabins in the woods. The only issue we had was that there are not window coverings on several of the first floor windows. The only one that is an issue is the downstairs bathroom tub/shower. The window is up high but, for anybody taller than 5'7"-ish, their upper body (more than just their head) is clearly visible from outside the cabin. My wife felt VERY uncomfortable showering in this situation. We feel that some plastic curtains or frosted glass would be appropriate for this window. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay at this peaceful cabin."

  • Comfortable, convenient, and classy!

"Holly and Andrea were most accommodating in making recommendations on what to do while in Durango, and in providing directions/instructions for our arrival. As soon as we opened the gate to the Bucking Mule Studio, we knew we had found a very special place. The outdoor patio area we had to ourselves was used right away. The studio has extremely tasteful decor, high-quality design, and the bed was so comfortable we are thinking of getting the same style mattress! We took advantage of everything we could, including the soaking tub - which was a challenge to get in and out of, but still worth it! We blew a fuse when running the coffee maker, microwave, and kitchen lights at the same time, but were able to remedy easily when we found the breaker box in the laundry room. We walked to a couple of local spots for breakfast and groceries and were very pleased with the convenient locations nearby, not to mention the closeness to downtown Durango. We will definitely make the Bucking Mule Studio our 'go-to' place whenever we return."
