  • Fantastic Home

"What a wonderful place to call home while in the Cortez area!! The home is spacious, immaculate, beautifully decorated and has lovely views. There are 2 patios and a large deck where we could relax, soak up the scenery and watch the wildlife. The location is ideal as we were just north of town with easy access to Mesa Verde, Howenweep, hiking, shopping and many interesting places. Ken and Lou Ann are very gracious hosts, even providing fresh flowers in several rooms and bottled water. One of the highlights of our trip was a tour Ken gave us of the La Playa Canyon in the San Juan Mountains. He took us up above the tree line into the snow in his Polaris Razor. Very exciting! There were 3 of us staying in the home and we all would highly recommend it. It was difficult to leave!"

  • Nice Property

"We stayed three days after first visiting Monument Valley on a road trip. The house met all our expectations. It was spacious, attractively decorated, and stocked with everything we needed. The yard is large and the area is very peaceful - just what we were looking for. We saw a deer walking in the yard while we were sitting on the porch the first evening we were there. We walked to Mancos State Park from the house and hiked all the way around the lake. The weather was mostly great, although it rained on the second day while we were in Durango. Linda stopped by and was friendly and had some good suggestions. My wife and I loved the area and we would definitely consider staying here again."

  • Wonderful Place

"Dean, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at your beautiful place. It was every bit as quiet and peaceful as advertised. We had fun walking thru the acreage and looking at the deer and jack rabbits. The sunsets were beautiful, the house was immaculately clean and modern and we hope to be able to visit again in the near future. Thanks for an easy booking and a wonderful time."

  • Acres of beauty, grandeur, desert splendor, and much more to explore

"Sit on the deck swing while you view the colorful layers of the McElmo Canyon cliffs and an unending parade of wildlife - deer, fox, song birds, hummingbirds, chipmunks, lizards, and squirrels. There are ancient ruins within sight, too, right from the deck. This homey, spacious cabin is a perfect home base for visiting many National Parks, National Monuments, and other attractions within driving distance of the Four Corners area. "Trail of the Ancients" and "Hovenweep National Monument" are both excellent places for viewing ruins and scenery, and are close by. Also, take the short drive to Dolores, CO to visit to the Anasazi Heritage Center museum and hike the easy trail up to Puebloan ruins with captivating views. At night after a day of touring or relaxing, spend some time outside taking in the velvet black sky pierced with a bazillion silver stars, then open the windows of your bedroom for a cool breeze of pure country air, and let the crickets' chorus sing you to sleep. We have never had such a peaceful, relaxing, and experience-filled vacation as we did staying at this delightfully decorated, fully equipped, and oh-so-comfy McElmo Canyon cabin this summer."
