  • Great location, comfortable for a large group

"We have stayed in this house twice and will definitely be back. The house is very comfortable for a large group, and the location cannot be beat. It is very close to the gondola and everything else in Telluride Town."

  • Incredible Views!

"My husband and I chose Alpenglow Ranch based on the pictures showing the mountain views. We were stunned and amazed when we arrived-the setting and the views are even more beautiful than pictured. John met us and showed us around this beautiful home, explaining how things worked. He made us feel so welcomed! We stayed for five weeks and got to witness an incredible fall color display from the large, expansive living room windows. Every room in the house had wonderful views. The home is about 20-25 minutes from Telluride and is a lovely drive. John gave us good advice on enjoying the surrounding area attractions-we had a great time! If you love golfing, fly fishing, cultural entertainment, and beautiful scenery, this place is for you! The home was very comfortable and well built-no drafts (heated floors throughout). The galley kitchen is open to the living/dining area and has a complete stock of dishes, silverware, glasses and cookware. The three bedrooms had comfortable beds and great views. Both bathrooms have showers; the master also has an antique claw bathtub. The master bedroom and bath are at one end of the house; the other two bedrooms and bath are at the other. Very quiet except for hearing the coyotes and elk occasionally. Mule deer in the front or side yard, sometimes in the morning or sometimes in the late afternoon. If you enjoy living in an area with expansive views of Wilson Peak and the surrounding mountains, then this place is for you! Pam W."

  • Spectacular home in a spectacular setting!!

"We actually stayed here last Fall also, but for some reason our review didn't get onto the site. We had virtually the same satisfaction this year as last. The owner, Denny, was very helpful and because of our late arrival, had stocked the kitchen with some items for our next morning's breakfast. He lives on the property and obviously takes pride in the house. With all of the large windows, the mountain views while overlooking the golf course, are breathtaking. The large upper and lower wrap around deck areas allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the natural beauty (and the putting green carpet, with practice holes, was a novel idea). The entire house is thoughtfully laid out and I think could be enjoyed by a large group or small. At night, the large central chimney with multiple gas fireplaces gave the rooms a cozy feel. The kitchen included high end appliances, 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers, 2 microwaves, and large separate freezer and refrigerator. Everything we wanted, and more, was there and was clean. My wife and I slept in the master suite on the main floor, which had a King bed, an attached office space to do our work (good WIFI), vaulted ceilings, large flat screen TV, a view of Mount Wilson, huge walk in closet, steam shower, Jacuzzi style tub, and 2 toilet rooms. There were 2 other King Master Suites in the lower level and 2 bedrooms and a sleeping/lounging loft on the second floor. We loved the pool table in the game room. There was also another large (50' x 12' x 12') play room with a batting/driving cage and ping pong table. There was a hot tub outside but we didn't use it. There are outdoor tennis courts 100 yards away. Because the house faces South and has the tall ceilings, the sunlight steaming in the windows and the full length row of skylights, made it very bright and cheery. There is even a full sized tree growing up the center!! North facing log homes we have stayed in were dark and depressing. We used the free Dial-A-Ride shuttle service to pick us up and take us anywhere we wanted to go. It was very convenient for those evenings when we didn't want to drink and drive or to just make a quick stop at the grocery store. In the winter it goes right to the lifts. The Gondola ride over the mountain into downtown was also very convenient. Denny has lived in Telluride for a long time and was very interesting to talk to. He knew much about the area, and it was interesting to hear his story about the building of this house."

  • Even better than it looks!

"We chose this house for a girl's trip for the location. The photos do not do this home justice. The owner was very responsive and easy to deal with. We were a group of 8 and were very comfortable, the location is ideal for skiiers and non-skiiers alike. I will hope to stay at this home again for future trips to Telluride."
