  • Winter wonderland

"We stayed here during Christmas week in 2015 (4 adults, using all three bedrooms). The house was very comfortable and warm thanks to the radiant heating. The 270 degree views of Colorado's San Juans and the meadows, hillsides and Aspen groves of Wilson Mesa are spectacular, captivating and visible from every room. Alpenglow one evening, moonrises over Mt. Wilson, watching the weather build up on the peaks. John was a wonderful host, very knowledgable about the local area and kindly arranging an opportunity for us to get a christmas tree. We cooked every night, the kitchen was well equipped and open plan so we could cook and spend time with each other and enjoying the view. Each morning we woke to see the tracks of the local wildlife in the snow. We came to enjoy the cross country skiing in the Telluride area and found multiple spectacular well-groomed trails within 30 minutes drive of John's place. There are also many options to ski back-country routes. During the week we stayed there was significant snowfall (several feet) and blizzard like conditions at times. John kept his driveway well plowed so we could always access the place and stayed in contact with us when the weather was hazardous. We had no trouble accessing the property in an all wheel drive SUV but did need to take it slow on the steeper parts of the county road that leads to Wilson Mesa. The house is some distance from Telluride (about 25 minutes driving slowly on snow covered roads) and we enjoyed the solitude of staying outside of town during the really busy holiday period. Come here if you want a unique South West Colorado experience and a chance to connect with the landscape away from the condos and crowds of the ski resort."

  • Gorgeous home, great area!

"This home is beautiful and the location is perfect. Views are wonderful. Anything you might need for your stay is at the house. We were two families with young children and loved it. Highly recommend this place."

  • Gorgeous in Mountain Village!

"What a beautiful property, location, and furnishings awaited us after a long drive! Perfectly situated, gorgeous views inside and out. More than enough room for all of us, really nice accommodations. As an art lover, was especially appreciative of the various works of exceptional art on display. Very very comfortable. I only gave 4 stars because the arrival procedures were less than optimal; we had to call several times just to get the door access and relied on piecing together the location and unit number. Once in, however, it was splendid. Really enjoyed the layout and the pretty private hot tub! If you stay, make sure to buy things like tin foil and plastic wrap; these were the only things we didn't have and could have used. Would definitely stay here again:)"

  • Lovely and comfortable -- we'd go back for sure

"#521 of Telluride Lodge proved to be an excellent place for 7 of us to share. All adults, we had plenty of room. The accommodations were attractive--cozy and spacious at the same time -- and the terrace with the view of mountains was a great plus. The kitchen was well stocked, the condo very clean, bathrooms spacious, and when we needed a window fixed, the man was there the same day to take care of it. Our hosts were also very attentive even from far away."
