  • An awesome place

"James Ranch is a great place. We stayed 7 nights and enjoyed everything about it. Julie's studio is clean, cute, quiet and special. The view from the back window is amazing. This is not your typical property, she has everything you need in the kitchen. The eggs, cheese and meat from their store were so fresh and good. I would definitely recommend James Ranch!"

  • A really lovely end of summer get-away!

"My husband and our son spent three nights and four days on the lake. It was our last get away together for the summer, and it was wonderful. My husband spent his early mornings and evenings fishing and caught a number of bass. My son and I enjoyed kayaking and paddle boating around the lake. In the evenings we cooked at home using the kitchen and the barbecue grill and even the propane fire for Smore's! My husband and I were able to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio and in the hot tub while our son entertained himself with the cartoon network. There is a lovely trail right next to the house that goes along the lake that my son and I also enjoyed. My favorite spot was the swing in the front yard overlooking the lake where I spent hours knitting and reading. It was very comfortable in the cabin and quiet in the woods and the views of the mountains and the lake were amazing. We enjoyed our weekend and would definitely recommend the lake front cabin for a relaxing weekend and quality time with family. Thanks, Connie, for being such a great host-We'll definitely be returning soon!"

  • Wonderful Space for Family Getaway!

"We rented this charming "cabin" for 3 nights in the middle of the week for a quick family get away/reunion. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all. It is a little less remote than I assumed from the pics. With 2 nice living areas, dining room and the awesome back deck, we loved all of the common spaces to gather. The bedrooms were nice, roomy, and well decorated. The great room was beautiful. The kitchen was nice and well equipped with all of the modern necessities. The deck was definitely the favorite spot to gather. The big table and pine deck chairs were nice and comfy to visit and watch all of the wildlife. We had one bear visit a window at 4 am, and we were able to see one bear strolling around outside at 7 pm. Pretty cool. A family of raccoons hung out in a tree just up the road and there were also a few deer and lots of birds, bunnies, squirrels and chipmunks running all around. It is close to the river, creek, lake, hiking, sightseeing and not too far from town if you need to make a trip. The only negative was that we were there in mid July, and it did get a bit warm in the house (heat/no AC), especially up stairs. There are fans in each bedroom, but a couple of box fans at the windows downstairs made all the difference. Too bad we had to close the windows to keep the critters out at night. We highly recommend this rental cabin. It is a very beautiful property with lovely accommodations."

  • Awesome Lake Cabin in Beautiful SW Colorado

"This cabin has everything you could possibly need to make for a great vacation...fishing polls, Atari, DVDs, old-school VHSs, a partially covered deck w/grill, wildlife galore (birds, deer, chipmunks, etc.), views of the lake...and so-on and so forth. Highly recommended. No WiFi...but that's o.k....good to unplug :)"
