  • Magical!

"Oh my! The pictures are spot on; however, they do not truly express the magical feel when you walk in the door! It's perfect, in all ways. George and Devon have done an amazing job building, furnishing, and filling the area with nature's best of flowers and trees. The large trees shade the yurt from the sun; however, for your comfort, the AC does cool the place down in the hottest part of the day. But, why stay inside when you can sit in the shade on the deck, listen to the river as it flows along, watch the butterflies as they stop at the beautiful flowers, or perhaps see deer at the river's edge. You are secluded from the road in your own private oasis where you can totally relax and clear your mind. Plenty to see and do in the area; the Black Canyon of the Gunnison is only a short drive away. So many orchards to satisfy your desire for fresh picked fruit; at this time, it's cherry season and they are awesome. Great places to eat in Paonia; if you like Italian, we highly recommend The Flying Fork. I highly recommend this, and my husband and I will definitely go back and spend more time at this magical yurt. Thank you so much, George and Devon, for sharing this magical place with everyone!"

  • A great place to stay in Durango

"My family and I stayed here for 4 days for a spring skiing vacation. The house is located about 25 minutes from Purgatory and about 10-15 minutes from Durango. The house itself is clean, well-maintained, and the kitchen is very well stocked with everything from a pancake gridle to a crockpot. The couches and fireplace in the living room make it a comfortable place to relax after a day on the slopes. We didn't use the back patio, but there is one with a BBQ and an outdoor dining set. The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of room for the 6 of us. The bathrooms are stocked with big, fluffy towels, and the extras like additional rolls of toilet paper, soap, and things like that were appreciated so we didn't have to make a trip to the store after our long drive to Durango. John was easy to deal with and answered all my questions. There was some confusion about the pricing when I made the reservation, but he worked with me to quickly fix the problem. I would highly recommend this rental. We hope to come back in the future."

  • An awesome place

"James Ranch is a great place. We stayed 7 nights and enjoyed everything about it. Julie's studio is clean, cute, quiet and special. The view from the back window is amazing. This is not your typical property, she has everything you need in the kitchen. The eggs, cheese and meat from their store were so fresh and good. I would definitely recommend James Ranch!"

  • Great condo - Great experience - Rebooked!

"This condo had almost everything we were looking for: great location within walking distance of slopes, on the shuttle route, great view, private wifi that allows streaming movies, functional fireplace with wood provided, clean, comfortable. The kitchen was usable but could be a little better equipped (it was a bit of a challenge to put together a holiday meal). At first we were disappointed in the TV situation. We brought our Roku and were hoping to be able to stream Netflix movies. But the TV was circa 1980 and was not compatible. My husband (a techie) did his best to come up with a work-around to no avail. When we inquired about a solution from the property manager, Alenka, we were completely blown away when she contacted the owner who agreed to BUY A NEW TV. In fact, Alenka drove to Gunnison in a SNOW STORM to buy a huge new flat screen TV for us! My husband was able to install it and hook up the DVD as well. Not only were we able to use our Roku, but all the digital cable channels were also available to watch. We have stayed in a lot of condos, but we have NEVER had a response like this from an owner or property manager. We immediately rebooked for next Christmas and can't wait to go back! I wish we could have parked our car in the garage, but the owner leaves his there. Oh, well. Everything else was pretty perfect! Highly recommend!"
