  • September vacation

"The Tyler Lake cottage was a wonderful place to relax following long days of hiking on the AT and kayaking on the lake, which is easily accessible across the road. The cottage was comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. We especially appreciated being able to enjoy this vacation with our dog. The owners were responsive and helpful, and we received our security deposit refund promptly. We would recommend this property to others and would certainly return."

  • Wonderful Affordable Winter Getaway at the Beach in Madison, CT

"This house is bright, warm and inviting even in January. We loved the views of the sound and watching the changing tides. We were treated to two beautiful snow days and several sunny days with blue skies. People in this neighborhood are out walking every day. A car is needed to get to town and for touring. The house was perfect for the two of us. It also allowed us to host family and friends for several days/nights. There is a high quality kitchen and a large dining room table perfect for game nights. The living room and spacious sun room provided lots of space to relax and visit. No one wanted to leave! The town of Madison is a great location for taking day trips on the shore and inland. We enjoyed walking through downtown Madison shopping for gifts. The local restaurants are great. Of course, we went to Cristy's for a pancake breakfast. Not far away is the town of Essex on the river. We learned a lot at the River Museum and had lunch at the Griswold Inn. From Madison, you can take the train into New York City. We traveled to CT via Bradley Airport just north of Hartford. I highly recommend this home for a fabulous beach getaway in all seasons."

  • Family reunion from California

"We stayed here for a week with our family. We are 4 sisters and spouses with kids in their 20s and 30s plus an 89 year old mother. The house was perfect for all 15 of us. It is in a fantastic location with many activities right there. We played golf and tennis every day, and rented kayaks and stand up paddles. It's such a gorgeous area, you never need to leave. The kitchens are well equip so we had a wonderful lobster dinner our first night. All the rooms are comfortable and there are many places to sit and read, or watch the osprey catch fish right out in front. Owners are a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend this home. It is a good combination of old elegance and comfort. You will not be disappointed!"

  • Felt like home

"Christmas with extended family was never more comfortable. This home has EVERYTHING you need for a great getaway...even in the winter. The views, privacy and escape from our busy lives was much appreciated. We have used HomeAway for years and I can honestly say this is the first rental that made us truly feel "at home". The owners made the rental effortless and added touches that made spending Christmas away from home very special. Excellent memories!"
