  • a wonderful place

"We chose this wonderful cottage on a lake from the internet. We could not have chosen better. It was perfect. The lake, which changes its appearance from hour to hour, was the main attraction. We swam in it, we boated on it (though the attempts at paddleboating gave the neighbours some interesting entertainment ! We had 4 relaxing days, combining touring and relaxing. Totally rrecommended"

  • Wonderful in Every Way

"My husband & I searched extensively for a lake house rental that would comfortably accommodate us & our dear friends from Paris, France as well as our Chocolate Lab, Bailey. My husband & I have rented many vacation properties in the past with the "Peni" being by far the best. The "Peni" exceeded our expectations & was truly wonderful in every way. The peninsular location afforded privacy & stunning views from every window of the lovely abode. The house is inviting, spacious & so very comfortable. One can feel the warmth & history of the generations of family who has loved, owned & cared for the property. Splendid breezes off the lake along with cool shade from towering pines dare you to not relax. Many a delicious meal was prepared in the well equipped & roomy kitchen. Bailey enjoyed swimming in the lake with our grand nieces who made day trips over Memorial day weekend with their parents. Nearby trail systems provided great hiking experiences. We greatly appreciated the welcome we received from Lucie upon our arrival & her assistance as we prepared for our stay at the "Peni". Many thanks also to Zabby who accommodated our dates. We wish we could have stayed longer & hope to return again."

  • Away-from-it-all cottage with delightful grounds and access to historic towns

"We loved spending time at the cottage, which dates from the 18th century (I think), and has been in the owner's family for many generations. The back deck overlooks woods, a pond, and lawns with old fruit trees. Inside, the cottage is like a very elegant house in miniature -- and with real antiques. We stayed only for a long weekend, but the quiet of the place rejuvenated us and made us feel we had really been "away." Also, we really enjoyed the private tennis court, set amid trees and grass."

  • Positive experience

"As expected after reading description and reviews. Dated but clean. Appliances and kitchen supplies were sufficient for our needs. Beautiful view from living area. Lots of space for my 2 kids to play in living area and yard. Residential area but feels secluded. Overall, we enjoyed our week long stay."
