  • the best vacation destination with kids

"House is very clean, comfortable, accessible and has a lot of amenities. Everything works well. New mattresses are very comfortable. even though, the house does not have an AC, fans are sufficient and provide a lot of fresh air. New large washer, outside shower, outside deck, gas grill, kids vagon, beach chairs and the umbrella are all adding up to the comfort and enjoyment. The beach is simply the best for the kids and older adults. About 3 minutes of walking, crossing a very small local road, few flights of steps down. Water is shallow with a very gradual decline, clean, warm, waves free - absolutely ideal for the kids (please bring the water shoes as there are few rocks for the first 10 ft when entering the water - very soft sand after the rocks end - pleasant). The owner is a very nicest guy, who spent the right amount of time with us describing the house and suggesting on the things to do. Kevin answered all of the questions and was very helpful. The state park has a lot of trails and many available picnic/bbq areas is within a short walking distance. One of the best vacations we've had and we have been to very many similar places. Thank you, Roche family, for sharing your house with us."

  • Cozy family Christmas

"We chose this house because of location in CT. We had easy access to some very lovely New England towns while we were there. We had a great time visiting New Haven (walked the Yale campus) and drove over to Mystic CT one day and had lunch at the famous Mystic Pizza! This was delightful! The house is within walking distance to the seashore and also the charming downtown area with its delightful assortment of restaurants, shops, etc. We had a very large party at the house...6 adults and 4 small children and we had plenty of room to spread out. We enjoyed the cozy family room and warm fires every day! The big dining room was perfect for our Christmas dinner. We enjoyed the hot tub outside every evening as well. The owner and property manager are very nice. As we came across some issues, they were responsive and fair in handling these. They even allowed us to "rumage" through the basement to find decorations for the Christmas tree we wanted to have. There are lots of toys and games and books on hand for all ages. The house is part of a very old (150+ years) historic district. So, even though it has been nicely modernized, it is a very old house. The kitchens and baths are all updated and the heating system worked very well. I would recommend this house for any group for any group or family that would like to enjoy a real New England setting!"

  • Great little farm, very convenient to Goodspeed!

"Three couples and two little kids greatly enjoyed this house. Doug and Doris met us upon arrival and were kind enough to show us around their property, including the animals. The house was clean and comfortable, and the Wifi worked well. The bagels and cream cheese were a nice treat. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the sauna and hot tub, but wished we had. Thanks again!"
