  • wonderful week in clinton fishing and celebrating

"spent a week in this lovely home and couldn't have asked for anything to be better. House had everything we needed, lots of room, cute decor, kitchen was well equipped even stocked with herbs and spices, BBQ grill outside which we used once and it worked well. Master bed and bath were comfy and roomy. Neighborhood is quiet, many people walking dogs and just enjoying the area. The town was so close and had everything we could ask for and then some, lots of great places to eat and shopping very close. Our daughter got married at Chamard Vineyards and it was just the right distance to drive and also to her home in Madison. WE really enjoyed the water and fishing in the area too... Hope to make this a yearly event (not the wedding just the shore and vacation part..LOL) Owner was available for questions and knowledgeable of area. Thank you so much for the great vacation!"

  • "CHARMING" is the least I would use to describe...it is "EXTRATROIDINARY"

"There was not one thing I needed for my stay that was not there....I love to cook and the appliances made it a pleasure...seldom do you find gas in this area...but they had it...usually I'm hesitant to use any things left by the owners, i.e. Spices and oils...but this kitchen was so well organized with everything clean and neat, that I knew it would be safe....I loved the instant hot water feature...no waiting for water to boil...the architecture of the house is truly amazing...the kitchen is gorgeous and so different. The beds were so comfortable, I thought I was at home...we are used to a king bed, so we did use the other bedroom as well.. I always pack too much, but the closet was a great size and was even able to keep our large luggage "out of the way"in the office....that was so important to me...made me feel as if I lived there ...not just on vacation... The outdoor space on both levels looked like a picture... We didn't have any questions as Charlie left printed directions for everything including the paperwork on tvs(top of the line)and appliances and recommendations on restaurants, shops etc( which having family in the area we knew and agree with as well)"

  • Lovely house in quiet surroundings

"The situation of the house was perfect, surrounded by fields and with lovely views and sunsets from the back porch. It was also very comfortable and quiet. There are a couple of reasons why I didn't rate it with 5 stars. There weren't enough cereal bowls for potentially 6 guests - only 4 cereal bowls and 4 mugs. It would take very little time and expense to equip the kitchen more extensively. Also the kettle which was really bad and corroded and needed replacing. The handle fell apart whilst pouring a cup of tea and nearly caused a scalding accident and a washer from the handle was discovered at the bottom of a cup and luckily wasn't drunk. There was only one bedside light in the downstairs bedroom and so we borrowed one from upstairs. We were very confused by the downstairs bed and the way it had been made up. The mattress was very soft and squashy and we discovered a couple of days later that the warm feather quilt (which surely should have been on top of us and not underneath) had been put on the mattress beneath the bottom sheet?!!! and on top of the bed was only a very thin blanket which wasn't nearly warm enough for the chilly nights. I'd love to know why. We took a quilt from one of the upstairs beds to use over the top of us to keep warm. We ate in The Stacked Kitchen in Sharon and enjoyed a very tasty and reasonably cheap meal. Ashley, the owner was very friendly and helpful and the service was good. The area around Sharon is beautiful."
