  • Wonderful gem!

"We stayed at this cottage for bringing our daughter to college and then for some vacation time. It was seriously the most well-appointed kitchen of the many, many kitchens that we have rented! The outdoor shower was fantastic for cleaning up after a day at the beach, and we ended up using it on non-beach days too, it was so nice. The backyard felt very private, although we didn't spend much time there. The front porch was a great place to read in the evenings (and the wi-fi, cable, board games, and puzzles gave the older kids something to do in the evenings as well). There were three beaches within walking distance. The closest one was two blocks away but was a bit rocky during low tide for preference of my youngest. The largest one was close to Rocky Neck State Park and was great for playing on the sand bar and for hunting crabs and shells during low tide. We appreciated the beach gear, since we had flown in and obviously couldn't bring our chairs etc. We took one day trip to Mystic and one to New London; otherwise, we were at the beach! Peter and Pat were easy to work with and very accommodating, and having a next door contact for emergencies or quick questions was great as well. We would certainly love to stay with them next time we are in the area!"

  • Great winter time

"Wonderful winter stay for our two families with a total of 6 kids. House was very comfortable with a nice layout -- plenty of kitchen space and many rooms to relax and enjoy downstairs for the kids and adults. Upstair bedrooms and bathrooms were nice as well. House is also very conveniently located to the main street with a really good pizza and coffee shop steps away. Paul and Anthy were fantastic to deal with (quick email replies, very helpful suggestions and extremely gracious, welcoming and flexible). During our stay we had some unexpected requests and they were incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to assist us and make our stay a very memorable one. Overall great experience and would certainly consider returning again for any season - although we really enjoyed the nearby skiing at Catamount and snow tubing. Highly recommend this house for adult couples and families."

  • Charming home with a great manager

"We were there for my son's graduation from Yale. The property was comfortable and charming, in a beautiful area. We loved the deck and the grill too. The real stand out was the property manager, Cheryl Warren, who helped us when an issue arose and bent over backwards to make sure all was well. Any property managed by Cheryl will be a winner. The owner, Ginny, also was great. I highly recommend the home and the area."

  • Everything we could have dreamed of

"Guy and Steph, words cannot express how grateful Kyle and I are that we found you and The Spirit Horse Farm. From the moment that we stepped foot on the property, we knew that this was the place that we wanted to be married at. Both of you were wonderful during the planning process and made it so easy to plan. Guy, I can't thank you enough for being so welcoming upon our arrival. I felt like we were meeting old friends again when we pulled up. Everyone that attended the wedding said that The Spirit Horse Farm was the most amazing place they had ever been. I wish we could redo our wedding over and over again just because we loved this place so very much. Thank you both again for everything!!!!!!"
