  • The cottage is cute and inviting. The yard is awesome, the view and proximity to the lake can't be

"This is our second year here and I can see it becoming a tradition. My sister and I were able to have our adults kids and spouses spend a day or two with us . It was the best time. We all enjoyed the lake ,in fact my 2 year old granddaughter learned to swim there. This cottage is a great place for family fun , catching up with each other and making new memories. I will definitely go back."

  • Incredibly beautiful lakefront home!

"The "Congamond Castle" is the perfect place for a family vacation. We stayed here this past August with two 75 yr old grandparents two 50-ish parents a ten year old and 3 somewhat picky and hard to please teens. Everybody except one of the teens was in tears when it came time to leave. The gorgeous views of the lake from the 3 levels of the home are still dancing in my head. I can't wait to go back. This place is newly built by Todd who has thought of just about everything (except for a few minor details like a couple of mirrors and small shelves in the bathrooms to store toiletries) to make your stay amazing. There is a flat screen hi-def sat. tv in every room if you need to chill, foozball and ping pong next to the wet bar in the basement. The main deck off the basement has gas fire pit, a fantastic gas grill (1 on kitchen level balcony too...well thought out Todd) comfy seating for 20, an outdoor fridge, a hot tub that got tons of use, and an outdoor sink and shower! Although the "public beach" on Congamond lake is right next door to the property, the few folks that came down to use it never made us feel like we were being "invaded". This fresh water lake was one of the nicest to swim in that i've ever been in. Some lakes have an "eggy stink" to them...this one does not. (make sure you bring aqua socks or an old pair of sneakers...there are freshwater zebra mussles and clam shells) There are some weeds but it does not get horribly overgrown. You can catch a million small sunfish, bass, and bullhead off the dock (buy some worms at the walkable/bikeable convenient store 5 minutes away. the huge grocery store is a 7 min car ride away) There is also a subway and a fantastic pizza place (Congamond Pizza?) 5 mintes away for those vacation nites when convenience is key to your evening. Todd provides a canoe and a kayak (i've mentioned that he needs another kayak...best to go in pairs) to explore the lake and you may be able to work out a boat rental with saunder's boat livery if you call ahead. We struck out. We found saunders to be a bit elusive...it's a mom n pop op. Make sure you wake up early...6-7am before all the boat traffic starts up at about 3pm and take a swim, kayak and explore the lake. I miss the "Congamond Castle" already."

  • Great Little Bungalow

"My family rented this cottage to be near our mother who lives in Southwick. It was a perfect location! We found it to be very clean with a well stocked kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and we had plenty of room, not that we spent much time inside! We were lucky to have fantastic weather so we spent our days outside on the deck and the patio areas. One patio had a round glass table with an umbrella and the other area had a good sized picnic table. We also made use of the kayak and paddle boat that were available. The gas grill was great for nightly cookouts and we made use of the fire pit for campfires each night! The relatives next door were very friendly and helpful. Another neighbor took us out for a pontoon boat ride around the lake and shared the history of the lakes. Our family had a fantastic time!"
