  • excellent house for a family get-together

"My two daughters and their families and I have rented this house twice. IT's been perfect for our needs. Comfortable, well-equipped. Nice outside area for the kids to play, and a delightful pool. Although the house is actually in a suburban neighborhood, it feels very private. Near good beaches and an outstanding lobster shack! The owners are very accommodating. This a very good value."

  • Clean, beautiful, convenient, peaceful, and a wonderful place to stay!

"We are 4 high school friends, now in our 50s, and gathered at this beautiful home for a long weekend. We came from California, Virginia, Utah, and Massachusetts. It was well worth the travel! This home is equipped with everything to make your stay seamless! We cooked in the well-stocked kitchen, we relaxed in front of the beautiful fireplace, while knitting and reminiscing. We enjoyed the roomy eating areas and the gorgeous Fall views! The bedding is top-knotch and the towels are full and fluffy. Sarah, the owner, was warm and welcoming in her email responses, and we so appreciated her quick responses to any questions we had. We enjoyed the wineries and chocolate shop, the knitting stores and the wonderful restaurants. A great place to walk and enjoy the lake view right across the street! When in this area, we would LOVE to stay in this beautiful home again. Thank you so much, Sarah! We are grateful!"

"I stayed here for a long weekend with some of my girlfriends, and I was just blown away by this property, and the customer service provided by the owner. Walking into the house, not a thing was out of place and the house was spotless. It was perfect for my 4 friends and I, we each had our own rooms, adorned with fresh linens and beautiful furnishings. The view was breathtaking, since we were right on the water, besides the view there was so much to do in Downtown Fairfield -- which was right down the street! Shopping, ice cream shops, amazing restaurants. The owners, Julie and Paul were so accommodating, and easy to get in touch with, and answered any and all of our questions! It was a great getaway for my girlfriends and I... can't wait to book another "stay-cation" here!"

  • Beautiful property in the country!

"Beautiful property in Bethel/Newtown area on a nice spread of property. We live full-time in Brooklyn and were long-term weekend renters in the winter of 2016/2017 (primarily using the house each weekend over about 3 1/2 months). House is very well appointed, clean and inviting. Nice, light filled spaces and cozy overall atmosphere with multiple living rooms and fireplaces (1 gas and 1 wood burning), easy-to-use basement den area with its own TV, bed, bathroom and door out to the backyard, which is nice for guests with kids/dogs. They did not skimp on the master suite either - extremely comfortable bed, very spacious set-up with walk-in closet, radiant floors in bathroom, high ceilings and great light... we really looked forward to spending our weekends there! The owner also works with a property manager that was really fantastic - super responsive on any issues, a pleasure to deal with and very kind. She made the stay very convenient and easy and would even pop over to turn the heat on for us a few hours before our arrival most weekends when we were driving up from the city. Only observation/piece of constructive feedback I have would be to ensure that you (as a renter) have good visibility into who is renting the cottage that also sits on the property. It's rather close to the main house and there is a shared driveway, so can feel a bit "close quarters" if you want the true "out in the country by ourselves" feeling (which may or may not be what your looking for). There was renters in that property ~ 1/3 of the weekends we were there and it would have been nice if it was a bit more secluded / separate feeling. However, by no means a deal-breaker (at all!) - just something to consider."
