  • Our Fourth Stay at Bethany Pines

"Like other reviewers, we are grandparents. We join our children and grandchildren annually at Bethany Pines and rent 2-3 houses. Trust me: There are advantages to having our own units to retreat to at the end of each day! Tom was very easy to work with and responded quickly to my questions. His house differs from others we have rented in that 2 of the 3 bedrooms have queen size beds and the third room has a double and a fold out sleep sofa (the house we rented last year had a pair of twins in 2 of the 3 bedrooms.) Another plus is that this house is one of few in Bethany Pines with a fireplace - enhancing the decor and the mantle provides an out-of-reach surface to hide things from grandchildren. Bethany Pines is quiet and private - but an easy and invigorating walk to the beach and town. We are comfortable allowing the children to ride their bikes around the compound and the centrally-located pool is a much-enjoyed centerpiece of the development. The house is fully-equipped and it even had a pack-and-play. Tips: Don't hesitate to call Tom to report any maintenance issues during your stay; we made the mistake of waiting until we returned home to report a running toilet that could have been easily-remedied :(. Also, as with ANY rental house, bring your own SHARP knives from home if you intend to do any serious food prep. We would not hesitate to rent this house again."

  • Property was huge with a lot of nice amenities such as the hot tub and plenty of space

"If you are looking for a house to fit your whole entire family or lots of friends, this is the house. The house is very large with 3 floors and has lots of amenities. It has a hot tub in working clean condition, pool table, and lots of games available to you as well. The kitchen is also very large and has all the necessary pots/pans, dishes, and silverware you need. There is also a grill and nice deck. From what i recall the house can hold 20+ people with at least 7 bedrooms each with their own bathrooms. There are also lots of bunk beds upstairs in the attic as well. I really enjoyed the owners, they were very helpful and sweet. They even allowed some friends to stay past the check-out time without charge. There are no sheets so be sure to bring your own and towels unless you want to pay for them. The only downside to the house is that it is definitely on the older side with not so many modern fixtures and appliances. It looks like it could use a little TLC, but just a little! It is also only a block from your own private beach that is very quiet and nice and away from OC craziness, if that is what you are looking for."

  • Great Location

"Overall, the property was nice with close proximity to the beach, pool and marketplace. It was also on a very quiet area. One disappointment was the washer and dryer. There appeared to be mold on the washer and the dryer took an unusually long time to dry. Otherwise, everything else in the unit was good."

  • Great place!

"I booked this summer vacation getaway for me, my 82 year old Mama and sister and we had a great time. First as several have mentioned in previous reviews, having a covered parking space so close to the elevators was great. Second, the unit was very clean with a good sized kitchen. Even though there were only three of us I liked having 2 bathrooms. And the beds were comfortable so we always had a good nights sleep. Also, while the Sea Colony passes are $40 per person, this unit has a storage locker with chairs and umbrella's in it which meant we didn't have to rent them, that helped with costs. We didn't spend a ton of time in doors as we all love the beach and we had perfect beach weather every day! I enjoyed the fitness amenities at Sea Colony (I took the water aerobics class) and they have a ton of other workouts available. A key aspect of renting this unit was the responsiveness of the owner. When we couldn't figure out where the trash chute was, or the storage locker, or when we had a backed up sink and a little difficulty closing a cabinet door, the owner responded right away and took care of things. It was greatly appreciated! We had a wonderful week and hope to be back next year."
