  • Cumfy, Rustic Beachhome

"We had to make last minute arrangements when the ones we made months ago fell through. Must have been destiny! We really had a great time. Had a problem with the cable; contacted the owner, he called me back and talked me through it, problem solved (Thank YOU!!!!) (there is a switch to go between cable and DVD, it had fallen behind the shelves). The house is open and airy, window units work well, not all of them are in whisper mode. The house needs a deep clean, but overall it is in great shape for a weekly rental. Plan to book again for next year."

  • Best vacation ever!

"This was the first time we had been to S. Bethany and it has become our favorite place and this is because of the Cottage by the Sea! It was so nice to be able to share our vacation with our dogs and thanks to Rose that's just what we did. Our grandchildren, ages 14 to 25 couldn't have had a better time. They said it was there best vacation to date. Our daughter and son-in-law couldn't have been happier. None of us wanted to leave and you can bet we will try to make this our yearly family thing to do. Thank you for the opportunity to stay at Cottage by the Sea! • Great House!

"We had three generations of family staying in this beach home. The upstairs two bedrooms and bath were a perfect sanctuary for my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson; it was as if they had a private suite. I do wish more silverware had been provided; and the street outside was a bit noisy as they placed a portable speed bump right outside of the property. (Certainly not the owners' fault.)"

  • Perfect family beach vacation house

"We had never been to the Delmarva coast before, so we weren't sure what to expect in the way of accommodations, neighborhood, or beach quality. Fortunately, 21 Bridge Road gave us a great experience in all three! The house has central air and double paned windows, which was essential - there was an excessive heat advisory in place during our entire stay. Renting this house entitles you to use the private, lifeguarded Middlesex Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches I've visited in the continental U.S. Since only residents (or renters) in the Middlesex Beach neighborhood are allowed to use it, the beach is never crowded - even on an August weekend. The house is an easy, three block walk to the beach, and is outfitted with beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, sand toys and a boogie board. If you're looking for a pub crawl or a jumping beach party scene, Middlesex Beach is probably not your best choice - it's laid-back, family-friendly, and it was pretty quiet the week we were there, so it suited our vacation style perfectly. The house is great for two or more families travelling together, as three of the four bedrooms are separated from the rest of the house by the patio (only the loft bedroom is connected with the living room and kitchen area). The owner is polite, responsive, and ready to make sure your stay is enjoyable. We are already planning our return next summer!"
