  • Woodsy Beach Getaway

"OVERALL: We found this charming Middlesex Beach house to be comfortable and affordable for multiple families. The private beach is absolutely priceless! No parking nightmares! This was our second summer renting in MSB and we will not rent anywhere else! PROS: House is HUGE! Much larger than it appears from the outside Kitchen is extremely will stocked with gadgets and cooking gear Plenty of space for multiple families to spread out Home is older but updated and nicely decorated Great location within MSB - walkable to beach for almost anyone CONS: You WILL bang your head on the ceiling. Like many of the older MSB houses, ceilings are unbelievably steep. Wifi is terrible. If this is important to you it will probably be an issue. Wifi is generally bad in MSB though."

  • Great Beach House for multi-family vacation! Neighborhood is the best-kept secret near Rehoboth!

"We rent a house every year with another family so there are 9 of us (4 adults and 5 kids). This was our 2nd year in the area (last year we stayed in loud-crowded-overpriced Rehoboth) and this year was SO much better. We loved this house! Favorite aspects include the neighborhood & location (quiet, pretty, but so close to the beach), the canal, the awesome outdoor shower, the "porch" swing in the backyard, the central air (which works amazingly well), the comfortable beds, the screened in dining porch, the incredibly well-stocked kitchens (plural!), the amount of privacy for each family, and last but not least the friendliness of the owner Jane. She answered all my questions promptly and helped problem-solve when I couldn't find something. We loved the quick, easy bike-ride to Bethany Beach with it's small, uncrowded boardwalk. We could spend the morning at Bethany beach, hit the boardwalk for ice cold drinks and snacks, then head to the house for lunch, and do a different activity in the afternoon (Like kayaking on the canal, or the Bethany Nature Center or Yesterday's Fun Toy Store in Bethany - a unique place!) So easy to walk or ride bikes to the sweet, local, (never crowded) South Bethany Beach. Also had two awesome sunset dinners on the porch at Captain Mac's in Fenwick Island. Some days we drove to other nearby beaches just for a change of scenery. The state beach under the inlet bridge is really nice! My dream is to stay ON the beach -- still can't afford it -- but if I can't have that. this house is definitely the next best thing. The ONLY thing I didn't like so much was Resort Quest, the property manager. They were NOT very nice or helpful when we had questions or needed help. :-( I hope they don't take too much commission!"

  • It was satisfactory

"Nice dog beach nearby. Home area was clean and kept up. Like the layout and location of house near canal. Having beach passes was a great perk. Having a garden house near the garage was nice to have to rinse off, but this is a vinyl house and it is not design for the kind of water pressure it sees 24/7 and should the hose burst, there is no way we can turn it off. There were some maintenance issues, i.e. shower head in master bathroom was not working properly. Same bathroom, the sink was partially clogged. Light over shower (used as nightlight) went out. Light in utility room went out. Ice maker was not working and you had to make your own. Basket in dishwasher allowed silverware to fall into bottom and therefore dishes did not get cleaned properly. Kayak lacked back support and gave me back pain and unable to use advertised bikes, because chains were rusted and could not be used. Outside shower stall was filled up and used as a storage utility. Would have preferred using a gas grill instead of charcoal. Would consider renting again if known above issues are resolved."

  • 96 Mays Way S. Bethany Beach

"The house was beautiful and very well appointed. It even had a couple of bikes along with a wagon and beach toys, all of which we put to good use. The kids loved the outside screened porch and especially loved the top deck where you could look out over everything. The adults loved the large family room with plenty of seating and a big screen TV. The beach access was good and the beach wasn't overcrowded as so many are."
