  • Perfect Place in DC!

"Chris's place is just great and we enjoyed a wonderful stay. We are a family of 4 (2 teenagers) and it was plenty spacious for us. The neighborhood is great - A 10 minute walk from the Metro and plenty of restaurants, corner grocery stores and coffee shops just steps from the front door. We rode the Metro/walked everywhere - No need for a car. The apartment is wonderfully appointed and comfortable - A pleasure to return to after a day of exploring the District. Fresh apples and a bottle of wine to welcome us after our long trip from the West Coast. Thank you so much Chris!"

  • The rental was everything advertised....

"We were very happy with the rental and the reviews were accurate as to issues encountered. The location was great! Grocery, laundry and restaurants within two blocks. The metro was also very close along with a drug store and many places to grab a beer or glass of wine. A few items would make the stay a little better, light switch in upstairs hallway was on the other tenants side and was often turned on and off at unwanted times of the morning or late evening: a sign letting other tenants know about switch would be an easy fix. The door at top of stairs locked from the outside and we accidentally locked our children upstairs and they panicked in the early morning when trying to come downstairs, this could also be a very dangerous fire hazard. The washer/dryer combination took a very long time to dry and was hard to understand, a note explaining how to use would be helpful, we did all laundry at a laundry mat one block away, this was easier than waiting for the one in apartment to dry and open. The door into the unit opens into the master bedroom, this was not a big deal because we were just there for breakfast and sleeping, the only thing is this being the entry door for the apartment(not the building, which was very secure) the door was an interior door and did not feel secure. if the upstairs tenants did not lock the front two doors, which happened on two occasions, a stronger door or a second lock on the inside would be better. Parking was not an issue, we often found parking within a block of the apartment and the parking permit came within one day of arriving. It would have been nice to be told about Tuesday being a day our car could not be left on the street for cleaning. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen was very nicely equipped to cook meals. Overall, I would seek out this apartment again if I was visiting DC in the future. One more thing, the air conditioner kept the apartment very cool, this was very nice when walking in 95 degrees all day. Check out the pizza place two blocks from the rental. I would totally tell friends and family to use this rental. Property was kept clean and well maintained. Thanks for the great stay!"

  • Great place for an extended stay

"I was in DC for 7 weeks for my job and the thought of staying in a hotel for that length of time was just unthinkable! This little one bedroom apartment was perfect for my stay and the roof top deck was awesome! It has easy access to anything you need in the DC area including lots of places to eat! The apartment was clean and even had amenities I was not expecting - like silver polish to clean a piece of jewelry! It was surprisingly quiet for being so close to the heart of Adams Morgan. My biggest warning for this property is the fish in the patio pond - they will make you think they are starving to death and need to be fed constantly. Don't believe them."

  • Good apartment for families!

"This apartment worked out really well for us! We had the benefit of 2 queen beds in the same room (for families with young children who don't want to sleep in a different room), plus a small kitchen, and an extra room for my aunt who came with us. You do have to walk through the small bedroom (which also has the washer/dryer) to get to the bathroom, as other guests noted. Also, as per other reviews, we had problems with the washer/dryer taking forever (and we wished there had been better instructions), problems finding the keys to adjust the thermostat (which is in the hall), and some minor problems getting our questions answered from the person who helps with the apartment (it would have been nice to have received the wifi info over email, since the book with that info had been removed and placed on the first floor in the hallway - which we didn't discover until day 2). Other than those minor issues, the kitchen worked out great for a breakfast of eggs and/or cereal each day before we left, the proximity to a grocery store was a big plus (and cute restaurants right near by that we are sad we didn't get to visit). The neighborhood felt very safe - lots of people walking around. We did rent a car, which worked out well for us, though parking late at night was sometimes a challenge since you have to find a spot. (The permit, which you must arrange with the property manager and pay $20 for, only allows you to park in the neighborhood... there is no guaranteed spot.) It took us 20 min. to drive to the mall - and parking there was around $20 for the day. It gave us extra flexibility and worked out well for us since we were a group of 5. I would recommend this apartment, and I would stay there again. You can also talk to Lois about paying through paypal to avoid vrbo's new annoying fees - which I really appreciated."
