  • Quiet, cheap, and handy. I'd stay here again.

"Let me start out by saying that I would happily stay here again. It's a really good deal, it's super close in to central DC, and yes, the house and neighborhood is quiet. They put really good windows in so it's nice inside. Also, I never had a problem with on street parking. But, that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Now, mind you, the walls of the house are thin, so you can hear everything that goes on in the house, it is very much a 60 year old, post war house, and it's kind of bare bones inside in terms of furnishings. The beds are better than most rentals I've stayed in, (that matters to me) but the sofas and table are Big Lots quality. (I've bought them before.) There isn't a lot in the kitchen, but as my mother says most people stay in rentals expecting to go out most nights, or reheat easy dinners. So if you stay here plan on minimal cooking. If you like to whip up 5 course dinners, it's going to be a bit of a challenge. IMO, they had a limited budget, and they chose to put their money in the places that I would. Plus there is wifi. A nice feature is that the basement -- which is uber 70s -- is off by itself and has it's own bathroom. Which is nice if you have teenagers or are traveling with extended family. If you are a low key person who wants a quiet place to stay, while spending most of your time out in DC, this place will suit you just fine."

  • We would book this property again

"We very much enjoyed our visit to Washington DC and our gracious hosts. The property was charming, clean, nicely appointed, and very well located to the Capitol, DC nearby Metro rail service and restaurants. We would have not problem encouraging others to book this property."
