  • The Wheats

"Our friends and family had a wonderful time at Wood Duck Crossing. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Took the kayaks and tubes on the river almost every day. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us."

  • An amazing place to relax with your family!

"This home is truly hidden away. We never heard a car or person the entire time we were there. All we heard was the sounds of birds, fish jumping and bullfrogs. We lived on the screen porch and the outside decks. My husband joked that he could not get me to come inside until the sun went down. We fished, kayaked and paddle boarded as much as we could possibly stand. The listing description is accurate. The three bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and well maintained. There was room for everyone to have a little space of their own if they needed it. Lisa met us at the house and had a loaf of home baked bread waiting! The house was very well stocked with everything we needed and there is a Walmart just down the street. We were able to kayak to the tuber bridge in less than an hour. You could continue up into the rainbow for swimming etc. The cove is also nice for paddle boarding etc. The kids pulled brim out of the lower deck all day long. We saw blue heron, alligators, turtles, an otter, etc... You literally could sit on the upper deck all day and be content. If you like to be outside and enjoy nature, this is the place for you."

  • Awesome getaway!

"We have been here several times now and love it even more each time we visit! We only left the property once for breakfast on Mother's Day at the Shrimp Diner in Inglis (excellent!) And a quick trip to the local IGA grocery. They are both 5 minutes away! We fished for gar and bowfin and caught several! This place is AMAZING! Can't wait to come back this summer!! Thanks Jim and Freda!"

  • Great place for a family reunion!

"Our family had a family reunion at The Rainbow River Lodge 2 years ago. All four of my adult daughters and spouses and grandchildren had such a wonderful time that they have been talking about it ever since. So we just got back from our second reunion at the lodge. What a wonderful experience we all had. The grandkids are a little older now and took full advantage of all the paddle boards, boats and tubes available for everyone to use. We made good use of the pontoon boat by taking everyone up the river and letting them float back down. We also took a late evening ride up the river and got to see all the wildlife including several otters playing in the water not far from the boat. The rope swing received a lot of action. The lodge itself was well appointed and very clean. Kudos to Dorothy and her daughter for doing such an excellent job. The numerous rooms allowed everyone to sleep comfortably in a room of their choice. The kitchen and living room and dining room were spacious with very comfortable furniture and fixtures. Quite frankly the boats and all the other toys available to explore and enjoy the river were a great bonus and made the price of the stay well worth what we paid. Needless to say we will be going back, and I highly recommend the place to anyone wanting a great place to stay on Rainbow river."
