  • Relaxing place, great house on the river

"Great house for relaxing and enjoyable vacation on Rainbow River. Screened in porch with sliders is fun hang out spot, looking right down to river; we ate most of our meals on porch. 3 bedrooms and baths makes it excellent place for family or friend groups, lots of room to spread out. Extremely we'll stocked with all you could possibly need in kitchen. House is very clean and in nice quiet neighborhood. 6 nice kayaks we used everyday. Did lots of fishing off dock, granddaughter loved it, caught lots of small fish. Family of otters swam in the area everyday. We ate all our meals at home but did hit a couple of antique stores and bought some fun stuff. Visited Rainbow Springs State Park; there's a hiking trail right nearby too. You're close to necessities but feel like a world away. Owner easy to work with and very responsive. Hoping to return."

  • Location was wonderful! Property exactly as described

"We had a great time at "The River House". Everything was exactly as presented. The property has a great location on the river with beautiful views. The use of the pontoon boat was wonderful! We were able to see the entire river by boat. The kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the use of the garage for our bikes, coolers, etc. We had a great time!"

  • Forget Disney. This is the REAL Florida experience.

"Spent a week with all our children and grandchildren in this hidden slice of paradise. If you love nature and outdoor adventure, this is the spot for you! The house sits riverfront and is situated on a large swath of old Florida scrub land with palmettos, oaks, and even citrus trees. It's like staying in your own private park with privacy fences bordering on both sides. Plenty of room to run and play on the land, but where you really want to be is in the water! Rainbow River is an absolute treasure. If you've never been, you need to go. The water is as pristine as it gets. A snorkeler's / kayaker's dream. Honestly I didn't want to leave the river. Plenty of kayaks and tubes plus life jackets for all are provided. The house offers comfortable, clean, adequate shelter and basic amenities- everything you need is there. It's a no-frills kinda place, just as pictures and posts describe. The hot showers always felt great after a day in the river. Lots of room, seating, eating space and comfortable beds for all. The large covered carport is an added bonus for Florida thunderstorms that blow through - you can still hang out outside if you want. The campfires in the fire pit were a nightly event enjoyed by all. Stargazing, moon gazing, bird life galore! So grateful that this piece of old Florida has been protected and left wild for us all to enjoy. Teri is great and offered good communication before, during and after rental. Always available and accessible by phone or email. We would definitely come back to stay again at this property!"

  • Fabulous

"The property was impacable. From cleaningness and confort, everything was first class. Beautiful river view from the back of the house. There was only one setback - the guest bathroom shower had no hot water."
