"PROS: This has the best location in the Resort! Home is close to clubhouse/pool/playground. Backyard privacy; backs up the main boulevard with privacy plants. Faces South for full sun around the pool. Nice french doors that open to the screened in patio. Cable TV/Internet. Grill. Furnishings were nice and functional. Plenty of dishes/utensils and small appliances (coffee maker, blender, electric kettle).
CONS: Have to checkin/sign out with property management, IPG about 5min away. Requires a credit card hold for security deposit or purchase insurance. This house is slightly more dinged up compared to other units we visited. Icemaker did not work and dishwasher did not do a good job cleaning dishes requiring hand cleaning.
OTHER THOUGHTS: I think most renters take the insurance and use it as a license to be careless. Walls were dinged up and the towel rod holder was torn off of the wall in the bathroom.
It would have been nice to have an electronic keypad for the front door lock instead of having to deal with house keys.
I brought my Roku so kids could unwind to their shows, but there is a DVD player for the main TV.
Each unit gets around 3-parking spaces and there is one spot 'reserved' for each unit but the clubhouse made it clear that people are free to park anywhere. We did not have any problems finding a parking spot even with the other peoples boat trailers but I don't think all the units were occupied.
House had no supplies; had to buy laundry detergent, softener, hand soap, etc. but this may vary depending on who was there before and what the cleaning crew takes. A trip to the Dollar store nearby provides all the basics.
There are some sand toys but we found ourselves borrowing from other units like beach towels, cooler, sun umbrellas that would have been nice to have had. There was a car booster seat, stroller, and highchair in the closet available for guest use.
During our stay, there were lots of kids and adults playing in the parking lot during the day and after dark. My rental car was hit with a football a couple times and kids were damaging the landscaping and tearing up the irrigation pipes. Paradise Palms has security patrols but they seemed indifferent and did not ask the guests to stop. This did not take anything away from our vacation and changes every week but I can see how many feel entitled to do whatever they want while on vacation and the Resort Security will put up with a lot."
