  • Peaceful and tranquill

"My husband and I enjoyed our stay (3 months) at 710 Delmar St in Lake Wales . Our landlady was very accommodating. It was our first time to to live in the lower part of a home. Our studio was just right for us plus a large screened room on a small Lake. We each had our own space with our own TV. Very private if you want to be or join with the family around a fire in the evening. We will be renting it again! Linda/Jack Villeneuve, Cornwall, Ontario"

  • Perfect winter get away and I'm not shoveling any snow.

"We found this house on line and contacted FAMS management about the rental. They were very easy and professional to deal with. When we arrived they were waiting to greet us and show us the home. There were a few small glitches in the first days that were fixed ASAP by the maintenance member of the company, Frank. He handled all issues in a very timely manner. The house was clean and very comfortable. It is about a 15 minute drive into the main commercial area. But the peace and quiet of the area is second to none. Most of the renter’s in this area have been coming back for many years and have formed a special bond with local owners. The neighbors in this neighborhood are second to none and are very friendly and helpful. We were so impressed with this home and location that we have already locked it in for next year."

  • Country home away from home

"A word that comes to mind to describe this cottage is "used," but NOT in the sense on untidy or unclean, but in the sense that your own home is used after you've lived in it for a few years-- not all doors close entirely perfectly, for example. Indeed, cleanliness is tops here. And for staying at River ranch, this cottage is unbeatable. It is well stocked with everything you can think of-- and wont have time to use all-- but it's good to know it's there: toaster, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker (standard), b-b-q, cooking/eating utensils, and so on, plus all the major appliances, of course. Do bring your food, for the nearest grocery is about 20 miles away. Cellphone reception is very poor, especially with ATT as compared to our son-in-law's Verizon-- unless you walk out to the middle of the backyard. But hey, let THAT be part of the adventure! And that backyard is expansive, more than big enough for family soccer or kickball when not roaming the ranch. And high-speed internet connection is included, if you must. The cottage is part of a four-unit structure but it feels very much like free-standing. It is very centrally located, especially compared to the glamping or the teepee areas, which are ridiculously expensive. Still, bikes are a good thing to bring (we did) since the ranch is very spread out. Nevertheless, walking is doable (and we did that too). The decoration is decidedly western/cowboy and is very inviting, right down to an old time spittoon! I wish I could include pictures, for they would really be worth any amount of words. Lastly, the owner, Ms. Carol Fox, is a pleasure to deal with. We didn't ask for much but got the clear impression that we could have, and that's good to know too. Thank you, Carol!"
