"I live on a FL barrier island less than an hour east, but this home became my emergency mainland evacuation shelter for Hurricane Matthew. Previous hotel plans fell through at the last minute (do not count on hotels.com's filters -- especially for pets), so in desperation I went to VRBO.
Not only were the owners of this property understanding of my situation and quick to reply, but they checked on me regularly to see if my beach home had survived the storm.
This was probably my 10th VRBO home, and though I have never been dissatisfied with any, this Orlando home is definitely in my TOP 3. Beautiful, well-kept home in a very nice, safe gated neighborhood. Nice attached screened porch with a small doggie door and a great fenced in backyard. Double car garage with a door opener, too.
Although I lived in this East Orlando area a decade ago, and the demographics have greatly changed, I never felt unsafe outside of the community gates day or night. Knowing a bit of Spanish will definitely help.
Bottom line, I will not need this home for a vacation, but I will definitely book it early when I see impending hurricanes headed for my east coast beach home. Beautiful home and great, caring owners.
Thanks, Alan and your wife, for the great hospitality!"
