  • Peaceful and Private

"This was the second time we rented this property and we stayed for a month! We love the Creek! The setting is very private and beautiful. When we turn into the driveway we loose our cell phone signals and that is just what we needed! However, the addition of WiFi to the property was very nice and it did allow us to access our weather apps, email, etc. It is very convenient having a boat ramp right next to the boat house. We brought our 18ft Key Largo and had no trouble getting in and out to the gulf. Being the last house on the creek, you don't get any other boat traffic. We had some unusually cool weather in the mornings and I enjoyed reading my book by the fire outside. I also brought a small hammock and strung it between two trees. It was very relaxing! My husband and son went fishing every morning and had a great time catching trout, redfish, shark and many others! Great place to get away from it all!"

  • Great stay-would definitely go back!

"Stayed 10 days in January 2016. This unit is much larger than anything you would get on the beach and well worth the 5-8 minute walk to the public beach access. With the rolling cart there is no need to pay the $8 to park 4 blocks closer. The pool is warm and the grounds are well maintained. There was hand soap, ample dishwasher detergent, plenty of towels (hand towels were lacking but there were about 20 bath towels so no worries). The master bed was extremely comfortable and there were several sets of sheets for all beds and extra comforters so if previous renters had problems with the sheets, they could have just changed them! There was no laundry detergent but we just bought some for a few dollars and left the rest for future renters. The washer and dryer are small so all the bedding and towels definitely cannot be done in one load upon checkout but you can throw a load in and go to the pool or for a walk on the beach while waiting. The screened lanai has seating for 3-4 people and looks out over the pool where it is very peaceful. The only negative was the Wifi was a little slow but if you unplug it and then plug it back in to reset every couple days, it works fine. Steven is really easy to work with and you can contact him via cell or email. Some of our favorite places are DaVinci's, Joey's, Nacho Mamas, Nene's, Bella Dolci (gelato and chocolates) and Sunset Grill (right at the beach access area). We also loved the boat ride through the mangroves less than an hour away in Everglades National Park just off of US 41 www.evergladesnationalparkboattoursgulfcoast.com. This is our second trip to Marco Island and our first stay at Steven's property, but definitely not our last."

  • Cozy

"My husband and I came to 30A from New Orleans. The cottage is exactly as described and very comfortable. The beds, linens, towels, water pressure, W/D, fully stocked (appliance wise) kitchen, AC, etc were all in great condition- making us feel right at home. This unit is the closet cottage to the pool. Super easy access and a pleasant 5 min walk to the beach. The whole neighborhood is well maintained. there were only two of us, but this could comfortably house 4 couples. There are so many different areas, private porches and entrances, you can still maintain privacy even if you're traveling with a group. Hope to be back. -Jeff & Kristin"

  • Perfect House

"My sisters wedding brought our family to Key West, but the Mermaid House will bring us back! This was simply the perfect house in the perfect place. The house is about half a block away from Duval Street which puts you in walking distance to all the action but tucks you just far enough away that you can enjoy a great night sleep! The pictures don't do the Mermaid House justice; it is truly a gem with a backyard that will make you feel like you are in your own private oasis. The outdoor shower was fantastic and was used by all of us everyday! The bikes were also a great asset, we rode them all over the island with them."
