  • Nice Place

"Let me begin by saying that Rick has a lovely vacation home. The house is spacious and well-supplied, except for a lack of teaspoons. We found it very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The price was reasonable and my security deposit was returned very promptly. I would love to give it a 5-star rating but I am afraid that is reserved for perfection, and our stay at Rick’s was not perfect. For one thing we were not warned that there is a landing about two steps after you enter the house with a drop of about six inches. I was the first to enter, did not see the drop and fell on my face, hitting my head on one of the heavy iron chairs at the dining room table located close to the entrance. Fortunately, I think I suffered only a minor concussion, a bloody ear and slight bruise to my abdominal wall. I think some warning, or perhaps something to indicate the edge of the landing, would be most helpful. We were also not told that we were expected to remove and replace the pool cover every time we used the pool. Not a big deal, but the listing says the home is “suitable for the elderly and infirm.” We are not infirm, but we are all in our seventies and removing and replacing the pool cover was a pain. There were no instructions about operating the TV so turning it off and on and changing the channels was always an adventure. Add to this the fact that there was no DVD player, and we brought along some old movies we hoped to watch. But in fairness there was no mention of a DVD player in the listing. Although it’s not a house-related point, there was a dog in the neighborhood that was constantly barking – sometimes all day and all night. It’s certainly not your fault and a doubt there is anything you can do about it, but it was a major annoyance. All this lessened our enjoyment of this otherwise lovely home."

  • My family loved it!

"The description of the home was accurate and the home was clean and well maintained. There was plenty of room for our family of 7. The grandchildren loved the swimming pool and the grandparents loved the lounge chairs outside under the covered patio. Flat screen TV's in all the bedrooms were nice too. We liked the fact that there were no rear neighbours. The owner was a pleasure to deal with. My family would definitely stay here again!"

  • Beautifil Contemporary Home

"This is a beautiful home, in a very nice wooden safe and comfortable neighborhood, not too far off the main streets in town. I am so thankful we chose this home, it was just perfect. Upon opening the garage door, you then walk through it (which is a great space as they have a good working washer and dryer and a great space to leave things after a day at the beach, and well stocked with beach toys, umbrella etc). You then conveniently walk into kitchen area. My family and I definitely cook in the kitchens, as we eat local and fresh organic food. Having said this, the kitchen was well stocked, and accommodated big breakfast lunch and dinners, for our family. The living room offers two sofas, , which was our favorite gathering space in the home, and theres barstools looking into the kitchen, and the open design allowed for us all to be together. The living room offers sliders with a patio in the very private backyard space. The home offers two queen bedrooms one one end of the home, with a bathroom in the hallway. The bathroom was spacious and a well stocked linen closet with very clean towels and linen. On the other end of the home offers the 3rd bedroom, which is the master suite, with tv and so beautifully decorated. Within this space, is the master bathroom, with a stand up shower, and a great soaking tub. Again, a very well stocked linen closet with clean towels. This master suite, offers a slider door looking into the very private back yard. This space is exceptional( we have high standards) and I can say ,again, what a beautiful master suite on one end of the home offering privacy. The owners of the home, quickly responded to all my emails prior to our arrival, and was so very accommodating to us, as well. My family and I traveled down for a wedding and extended our trip to spend time in the sun. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe, and I found myself reading and having quiet time ( I am a doctor, and read often, but this home offers serenity and you just want to sit and enjoy the space) The home offers such light and again, the neighborhood is private and we felt safe. It's a great neighborhood for children to play, and a great area to walk or go for a run. Truly, by reading my review, it's easy to see how much we enjoyed our stay here. The owners were very accommodating, and quickly answered all my emails prior to arriving. The town is a very nice town, and we went to the beach often. Thank you Dawn and Robert, well done!"
