  • Very nice house, great location.

"We were a large family in town visiting relatives in the area. The house was very spacious, and well supplied. The yard & pool area really made our stay fabulous ! The owner was available when I called with questions. The bathroom is newly renovated, and very nice. The only suggestion I would make, is maybe add another bathroom to the property. (Maybe a pool bath ?) I would definatly reccomend this property , and will likely rent again."

  • JUST PERFECT!

"Despite a mis-communication about our arrival time, management was kind enough to let us cool off in the condo while it was being cleaned. That minor issue aside, our stay was just what the doctor ordered--relaxing, extremely comfortable, and a great view! Bud was so kind to accommodate us and he was very helpful and answered all emails promptly. This unit is immaculate! The pool is immaculate! (thanks to the great job Jeff does!) Went to John's Pass one morning and even though it's pretty touristy, it was fine with us since I got the gifts I wanted to bring home, and we were tourists after all! We weren't that adventurous about eating out. Screwie Louies and Dockside Daves across the street were ok (interesting crowd at Screwie Louies) and the grouper at Daves was super. We saw perfect sunsets EVERY day! Thanks, Bud and Elaine for sharing your home with us. We will be back!"

  • pleasant place to stay

"Pieces of Eight was just what I was looking-for - an economical place to stay with the basic needs for home-style living. The motels in the under $100.00/day category are mostly dumps and you only get a bed(s) and a bathroom. I have visited this area many times over the years and places like this along the beach are pushing their prices too high. Our accommodations were small, but clean and we had everything we needed there,: a bed for two in a bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living/dining area. The fridge and stove worked and we had all the dishes, pots and pans we could use as well as small appliances. The TV was small but where you sit is so close it doesn't matter :-) and there was a working PVR there so that I could record any shows I wanted to watch later. The two air conditioners worked well and were more than enough to cool-off this space....plus there were three ceiling fans to help move the air. Water pressure was good. I liked the courtyard and the shade that the trees provided. There was a BBQ available in the second courtyard, along with a table and chairs....unfortunately it was so hot the week we were there that I couldn't bear to use them! The only thing that I suggest is that Steve have some ventilation installed in the bathroom, to pull-out all that moisture from people having a shower. That will help the a/c unit in the bedroom do its job without working 'over-time'. Owner Steve was around every day working around the place and always available for help or just a talk. If something like a light bulb needs replacing when Steve is not around and you don't mind doing it yourself, just go to the laundry room and get one; there are supplies in there. It was handy having the beach right across the street. There are few good restaurants within a reasonable walking distance or a less-than-five-minute drive, and two really good places for ice cream. So, if you don't require all-new hotel-style furniture and amenities or a large living space, Pieces of Eight is a good place to stay at a reasonable price."
