  • Delightful studio, very short walk to beach and sights

"My husband and I (and our dog) stayed in this studio for a week and really enjoyed it. We looked at many vacation rentals and hotels in the area, and this was under the cost for the location--hotels tended to be around $180 a night, and didn't have full kitchens. Other vacation rentals were a bit more expensive, but some of them could sleep more people, but for just two people (or perhaps a couple and a child) this was more than enough for our needs. It was also great to be able to have dog, especially given that the beach is dog friendly beginning 1 block north of the unit. Unit: The vaulted ceilings in the studio make it seem much larger than the square footage. The photos are representative. The bed and couch were comfortable. The outdoor deck and table (with umbrella) was nice for eating on the deck. There is a small view of the ocean from the deck, but it is not an "ocean view" deck. We enjoyed being able to see the bustle of people on the street from the deck without being a part of it. Amenities: We found the kitchen to be well stocked with dishes and utensils for all of our cooking needs. The Wifi was really easy to access, which is unusual for vacation rentals. There it was quick and easy to connect. We brought an Apple TV and had no trouble streaming Netflix movies in the room. There are chairs and floats for use at the beach if you need them, and there are plenty of towels for shower and beach use. Location: It is a *very* short walk to the beach, and the north end of the beach is far less crowded or touristy than the south end. We really appreciated the quiet and more "low-key" feel of being on the North Beach side of Clearwater Beach. However, it is also really short walk (about 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you walk or whether you walk on the beach or road) to get down to Pier 60 where all of the charter boats and excitement are happening. It is also really close to the Palm Pavillion, which is a great place to listen to live music and watch the sunset. Despite the walk from the more populated areas, we found it safe to walk back after dark and a safe place to walk our dog in the evening. Management/Owner: It was a delight working with Joe! He was responsive and very helpful. Anytime we had a question we heard from him virtually immediately, and he returned our security deposit within 24 hours of checking out -- on a Sunday, no less. I would love to have all VRBO owners to be this pleasant and professional!"

  • Lovely condo with ideal beach location

"Just got back from a lovely and relaxing stay at the condo on the beach with my husband and 15 month old daughter. Michael was responsive to all of our questions and was easy to work with. He even happened to be staying in his other unit and stopped up to say hi – very nice! The condo on the beach is in an ideal place on beautiful Clearwater beach – up and away from the big hotel condo area where the beach is less crowded. Walking distance to great dining and shopping options. The décor and layout of the condo are wonderful. Others have commented, and it is true that the appliances are a bit dated but everything is in working order (we used the dish washer, frig, coffee maker, toaster, clothes washer and dryer). All of the beach items one could need are available so no need to pack extra. The condo was clean and ready for us when we arrived. There are only a couple items that I would caution someone on… First, as other commenters have noted, the screen doors don’t work. This was not a big deal for us since there aren’t many bugs while visiting in November – we just left the doors open. I mentioned this to Michael and he told me it was on his to do list for next week (end of Nov 2016) to get them fixed so if you are visiting in December 2016 or later you should be good. The other issue is more serious. We had our 15 month old daughter with us and the first night on the deck we noticed that she could fit her whole body through the spindles. Meaning, her head would have barely caught her had she fallen through – and it is a 3 story drop. I don’t know what the building code is in Florida but in Iowa (where we live) the rule is no space between the spindles larger than 4 inches. The spaces were at least 6 inches. Very VERY scary. Rather than worry about it all week, my husband made a trip to Lowe’s and bought some temporary gardening fencing and ties and put up a barrier so we could enjoy the deck. Unfortunately, this added cost and was an annoyance on our trip. It took time to both put it up and take it down. For this reason, I can’t recommend this condo for families with small children. It is perfect for adults or older kids but not for young kids. We would love to come back to the condo some day but will have to wait for our daughter to be a few years older before we would feel comfortable."

  • Great find!

"Great house! This was a perfect find for our family with multiple needs. Having the bunk room was so great for my 3 kids which was right next to two additional good sized bedrooms for my wife and I and another couple, if needed. My inlaws were able to join us for the stay and comfortably stay on the opposite side of the house in a wonderful master suite. We took advantage of the pool, outdoor living space, kitchen and two indoor living spaces. A large dining table allowed us to sit as a big family as well. Great overall find... highly recommended."

  • Great family vacation

"My family and I loved this place. We do not like commercialized locations and seek something a little different. This property was ideal for us. The inclusion of the pontoon boat was a big plus! The property is exactly as described in a nice little neighborhood that is very low key and quiet. It is not far from the main highway which has a lot of eating choices and a Publix. The house was very clean and had all the things we needed to cook and grill. The house has plenty of towels, blankets and extras linens. It was nice to have the crab traps, bikes and washer/dryer. The property manager is great to work with and very informative. The owner was quick to respond and very nice to work with. The pool and boat were great additions to this property and we thoroughly enjoyed both. The private beach is nice, but not really like being on the "beach" or ocean. It is more like a bay in my opinion. My family largely preferred the sandbar located a few miles out in the Gulf. It was absolutely gorgeous in the middle of the ocean. It is really like your own private island with amazing shells. We saw dolphins most days that we went as well. The water is very clear and calm at the sandbar and only about waist deep for a long ways out. The Florida Aquarium, Busch Gardens and Clearwater Marine Aquarium (home of Winter from the movie Dolphin Tale) are all close and we enjoyed visiting all of these places.Tarpon Springs is just up the road and is a must see. Very neat Greek atmosphere, lots of little shops and the sponge docks were very interesting. We ate at Rusty Bellies in Tarpon Springs and it was delicious. We would definitely go back to this property and I would recommend this property to any family looking to get off the beaten path. The Baggett Family Tennessee"
