  • Million dollar view!!!

"Myself and family loved this beach home and ocean view so much that no one wanted to leave to do anything else, the water was crystal clear perfect temperature and the waves were different every day, lets not forget about the daily dolphin sightings. We arrived late and found the home with lights and AC on, the home itself was clean and supplied with everything we needed. What was also nice was the home was located in a residential area quiet, with supermarket just a short drive anyway, so much better than hotel. The owner was very helpful and accommodating would definitely give 5 stars and would return. JP Massachusetts"

  • A wonderful piece of paradise .........

"This is an excellent, good sized and very clean condo. It is situated in a great location directly on the beach, close to lots of amenities, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The condo was extremely comfortable and had a real ‘home from home’ feeling which made for an excellent and relaxing stay. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils (more than we have at home). All of the appliances were like new and everything worked well especially the Fridge/Freezer with the ice and cold water dispenser which meant that we didn’t have to purchase bottled water which we would normally do. The owner is a very pleasant person and very easy to deal with, he even rang a couple of times to check to see if there were any problems and ask if there was anything he could help us with. The property manager is also a very pleasant person to deal with and both he and the owner made the whole booking process very easy and straightforward. We enjoyed a lovely 7 week stay in the condo and we will definitely consider renting it again if we choose the Madeira Beach area in the future. We will also recommend the condo to friends and family."

  • pleasant place to stay

"Pieces of Eight was just what I was looking-for - an economical place to stay with the basic needs for home-style living. The motels in the under $100.00/day category are mostly dumps and you only get a bed(s) and a bathroom. I have visited this area many times over the years and places like this along the beach are pushing their prices too high. Our accommodations were small, but clean and we had everything we needed there,: a bed for two in a bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living/dining area. The fridge and stove worked and we had all the dishes, pots and pans we could use as well as small appliances. The TV was small but where you sit is so close it doesn't matter :-) and there was a working PVR there so that I could record any shows I wanted to watch later. The two air conditioners worked well and were more than enough to cool-off this space....plus there were three ceiling fans to help move the air. Water pressure was good. I liked the courtyard and the shade that the trees provided. There was a BBQ available in the second courtyard, along with a table and chairs....unfortunately it was so hot the week we were there that I couldn't bear to use them! The only thing that I suggest is that Steve have some ventilation installed in the bathroom, to pull-out all that moisture from people having a shower. That will help the a/c unit in the bedroom do its job without working 'over-time'. Owner Steve was around every day working around the place and always available for help or just a talk. If something like a light bulb needs replacing when Steve is not around and you don't mind doing it yourself, just go to the laundry room and get one; there are supplies in there. It was handy having the beach right across the street. There are few good restaurants within a reasonable walking distance or a less-than-five-minute drive, and two really good places for ice cream. So, if you don't require all-new hotel-style furniture and amenities or a large living space, Pieces of Eight is a good place to stay at a reasonable price."

  • Clean and comfortable apartment

"Our family of six stayed one night at this apartment during Hurricane Matthew. The communication was good via email and text messages and phone calls arranging our arrival in the late afternoon were answered promptly. The unit has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms which had clean Fresh linens and new shower curtains. We used the twin and queen air mattresses as we had 6 adults. It would be most comfortable for 2 couples but we made do. We used the full kitchen to make dinner and breakfast and also did a few loads of laundry. Be aware that you will need to purchase all of your groceries (coffee, filters, salt/pepper etc) all of the appliances worked well except the dishwasher door was a little sticky to get to close to start a load. We managed to get it working. It was a expensive for just one night due to the cleaning fees on top of the nightly rate, we were just glad to have a safe place to spend the night! We would look to stay here again if we were in the area for a longer visit, it is close to downtown Tampa and Busch Gardens."
