  • Great location, great service

"This a great motel in a perfect location with amazing staff (Gayle & Rodney). I stayed for 4 nights with my family (3 & 5 yr old) and was made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Rooms are clean and provide a nice size kitchen. Gayle and Rodney are the nicest people you'll ever meet and are brilliant with the kids. there is plenty of beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas, boggy boards, bucket & spades) free for all staying at the motel - including clean beach towels each day. the beach is just 100m away and the main nighttime area (Pier 60) is just 5mins stroll - where family movies are played on the big screen (open air) free for all to attend on Fri & Sat. the beach is beautiful and rated #1 in America by Trip Adviser. don't stay at the big hotels, they are over priced and soleless - the Bluewave Suites is just the perfect family holiday motel with everything you could ever want."

  • Delightful studio, very short walk to beach and sights

"My husband and I (and our dog) stayed in this studio for a week and really enjoyed it. We looked at many vacation rentals and hotels in the area, and this was under the cost for the location--hotels tended to be around $180 a night, and didn't have full kitchens. Other vacation rentals were a bit more expensive, but some of them could sleep more people, but for just two people (or perhaps a couple and a child) this was more than enough for our needs. It was also great to be able to have dog, especially given that the beach is dog friendly beginning 1 block north of the unit. Unit: The vaulted ceilings in the studio make it seem much larger than the square footage. The photos are representative. The bed and couch were comfortable. The outdoor deck and table (with umbrella) was nice for eating on the deck. There is a small view of the ocean from the deck, but it is not an "ocean view" deck. We enjoyed being able to see the bustle of people on the street from the deck without being a part of it. Amenities: We found the kitchen to be well stocked with dishes and utensils for all of our cooking needs. The Wifi was really easy to access, which is unusual for vacation rentals. There it was quick and easy to connect. We brought an Apple TV and had no trouble streaming Netflix movies in the room. There are chairs and floats for use at the beach if you need them, and there are plenty of towels for shower and beach use. Location: It is a *very* short walk to the beach, and the north end of the beach is far less crowded or touristy than the south end. We really appreciated the quiet and more "low-key" feel of being on the North Beach side of Clearwater Beach. However, it is also really short walk (about 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you walk or whether you walk on the beach or road) to get down to Pier 60 where all of the charter boats and excitement are happening. It is also really close to the Palm Pavillion, which is a great place to listen to live music and watch the sunset. Despite the walk from the more populated areas, we found it safe to walk back after dark and a safe place to walk our dog in the evening. Management/Owner: It was a delight working with Joe! He was responsive and very helpful. Anytime we had a question we heard from him virtually immediately, and he returned our security deposit within 24 hours of checking out -- on a Sunday, no less. I would love to have all VRBO owners to be this pleasant and professional!"

  • Graduation Congratulations

"With a family of six adults and five teenagers (all girls 13-18) we were celebrating two graduates and were a little nervous, but proved to be an excellent choice. All of us enjoyed the pool and cooking out overlooking the water. Everyone of the girls caught fish from the dock as did the men. The kayaks were a big hit and such fun, especially when the dolphins were out. A short bicycle ride or walk to nearby stores and restuarants and the ice cream shop was awesome. Only a short drive to Honeymoon Island where warm water and plenty of shells were to be found. Dunedin was a great place to eat (Bon Appetit and Sea Sea Riders) and shop, and the girls went into Clearwater Beach for more "action" several days. Went to Tarpon Springs to Rusty Bellies and had some fabulous seafood and enjoyed the town. Other days the men played golf while we went sight seeing and it was a full day so enjoyed coming back to a nice home to eat and relax. Everyone enjoyed the acquarium in Clearwater where we saw the dolphins Winter and Hope as well as many other wonderful sea creatures. One of our nicest days was the day our house manager took all of us on his pontoon boat to an island for shell hunting. Only concerns; the refrigerator got over heated and needed manager to come and clean back coils. The main bathroom shower leaked so all shared the other two. The sofa-bed in the downstairs was not to be used and a blow-up mattress was provided which did not go over well with the two girls. Also, when you say it sleeps 12 but only provide 10 towels someone gets shorted. Having to wash the towels before leaving is also a BIG inconvenience. Having the washer and dryer is great, but it takes time to wash and dry that many towels."

  • Great

"My husband and I loved the small but VERY adequate space. The location is perfect. Out of the hustle and bustle of the beach scene but close enough to walk there to enjoy all the goings on. The chowder at the Brown Boxer across the street was excellent. In fact we had it twice. The view and sunrise from the deck is beautiful. Cleanliness was superb, the kitchenette was well supplied, and certainly would recommend highly. The owner was very accommodating and pleasant to work with."
