  • Perfect practice for retirement

"We loved our stay. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The house was great and comfortable. The neighbors were friendly. Although we were only here for a month it felt like we belonged. We would definitely come back."

  • Excellent

"We were greeted by William and given a tour of the home. He had a wonderful welcome basket for us. The home was beautiful and had every amenity! William even helped my husband get our boat to the homes dock! I would stay here again, hands down!"

  • Perfect River House

"We very much enjoyed our stay at this perfect River house! The house and cove are perfectly located with easy access to town, marinas, Kings Bay and the Crystal River and Gulf. The floating dock held several boats and has a ladder, making it easy to use the provided kayaks. The garage was great for storing coolers and fishing gear. We enjoyed the outdoor shower for rinsing off when getting off the boat. There were plenty of towel racks to dry towels after boating and showers. The back porch and patio made it easy to enjoy the evenings and sunsets. The large and stocked kitchen was easy o use and cook family meals. We just left and can't wait to go back! Thank you for an excellent vacation home!"

  • Great Location, Easy Kayaking Access, Mixed Rental Experience

"Our family stayed at this property for 4 days. The location is terrific--this is the last house on the canal before King's Bay, an easy paddle to some of the local springs and around the bay, and a 5 minute drive to restaurants and stores. In mid-March there were manatees everywhere, including in the small canal by the steps to launch the kayaks. The included kayaks are a HUGE plus and it was easy to put in/take out just steps from our door. We used them every day. The layout of the rental includes entryway, kitchen, dining area and living room/sunroom on the first floor. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, a bath with a shower, and a jack-and-jill bath with a shower/tub. The master is huge and comfortable with a nice sitting area. There's a large porch that runs outside all 3 bedrooms that has views of both the canal and the bay. It's a beautiful place to enjoy the scenery (as long as the bugs aren't biting). Be sure to bring flip flops to wear out there, though, because the boards are uneven and loaded with splinters. Over all, the property is a little worn, but a bargain for the price and very clean. Wifi works great and the owner was responsive and helpful. There are a couple negatives to consider for this property. The most important one for anyone looking to rent in warm weather is that there is a window air conditioner in the living room and no other a/c. Even in March the bedrooms were very hot by mid-afternoon and in the summer they'd be stifling. Perhaps the owners add more air conditioners in summer, but there were none during our stay. The other issue is one of privacy. When we returned to the property after a few hours out there was a note on the door that the owner had gone through the property in our absence with an insurance agent. This was a big breach of trust for us. I was available by phone and text the entire time and would have appreciated being informed *before* someone walked through the rental where we'd left all our personal belongings--though it'd be better if they didn't do it at all. Lastly, there seem to be two other units on the property. One of them is a separate portion of the house that faces the bay and you hardly know it's there. The other adjoins the kitchen and living room of the rental and you can hear everything from that unit (so I assume the people in it hear you, too), and somebody has a drum kit over there. They only played during the day, but if you like to nap, it's a big surprise."
