  • Perfect Getaway Spot!

"Two of us shared this condo and had a wonderful time! Indian Rocks Beach is more residential so you do not have the crowds of St. Pete or Clearwater Beach. Sunset Paradise is very well maintained as well as the condo. Everything was clean and the condo had everything you need to enjoy your time at the beach! My only complaint is that I couldn't have stayed longer! I will definitely rent this place again!"

  • Private Family Beach Vacation

"This was a very nice location and home for my family's beach vacation. With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, we had plenty of room in the house. We used the pool a lot. It was like having your own private pool, as it was only shared with a few more families. The beach access was ideal and private as well, since there were no high rise condos near by therefore the beach was never crowded. The sunsets were spectacular. Rad's rentals were great for renting bicycles and other beach toys."

  • pleasant place to stay

"Pieces of Eight was just what I was looking-for - an economical place to stay with the basic needs for home-style living. The motels in the under $100.00/day category are mostly dumps and you only get a bed(s) and a bathroom. I have visited this area many times over the years and places like this along the beach are pushing their prices too high. Our accommodations were small, but clean and we had everything we needed there,: a bed for two in a bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living/dining area. The fridge and stove worked and we had all the dishes, pots and pans we could use as well as small appliances. The TV was small but where you sit is so close it doesn't matter :-) and there was a working PVR there so that I could record any shows I wanted to watch later. The two air conditioners worked well and were more than enough to cool-off this there were three ceiling fans to help move the air. Water pressure was good. I liked the courtyard and the shade that the trees provided. There was a BBQ available in the second courtyard, along with a table and chairs....unfortunately it was so hot the week we were there that I couldn't bear to use them! The only thing that I suggest is that Steve have some ventilation installed in the bathroom, to pull-out all that moisture from people having a shower. That will help the a/c unit in the bedroom do its job without working 'over-time'. Owner Steve was around every day working around the place and always available for help or just a talk. If something like a light bulb needs replacing when Steve is not around and you don't mind doing it yourself, just go to the laundry room and get one; there are supplies in there. It was handy having the beach right across the street. There are few good restaurants within a reasonable walking distance or a less-than-five-minute drive, and two really good places for ice cream. So, if you don't require all-new hotel-style furniture and amenities or a large living space, Pieces of Eight is a good place to stay at a reasonable price."

  • Can't wait to return!

"We loved this little cottage. It was the prefect fit for our family of 5. The house was easy to find, clean, and comfortable. Our favorite feature was the screened in patio, which we spent the majority of our waking hours if we were not out and about. We got the kayaks out and used them to paddle up and down the canals, which was very quiet and relaxing. The wildlife park up the street is a fun place to visit and definitely take advantage of the discount you get from Bird's Underwater to go on a guided manatee swim!"
