  • Perfect Spring Getaway at New Port Ritchey

"We stayed at this property for the last week of March 2017 with another family of 4 and had a perfect time. The house fit our needs perfectly - four bedrooms, 3 baths, and a WARM POOL! We had all the tools we needed to cook some nice meals "at home" to save on some expenditures and the Publix and Walmart are only a few miles away to gather up supplies. We loved the bikes for little rides around the neighborhood! We spent a day at Honeymoon Island and it was well worth it. . . walked the beach, played in the water and caught some rays. There was a small fee to enter but totally worth it, and even a little snack counter there if we needed a little extra something. We spent another day down at Clearwater Beach and that was another perfect day in the sun and fun. . . a must see. We were able to catch a Spring Training game of Phillies vs Yankees that was fun to watch and only about a 30 min drive south in Clearwater as well. Overall - don't hesitate to book this house. I am very particular about where I stay and it was really great and would book again for sure! Pros: -soft beds -clean house -warm pool -dolphin watching right off the dock (best surprise by far) -fishing -Mike the manager is so helpful!! -location was perfect and many great bars right on the canal for great dinner and drinks -washer/dryer was great to keep our laundry under control! Cons (and truly, I am reaching for these): -Although the owner cannot do anything about this - there are gnats out at night and we did get 'eaten alive'. My husband has about 30 bites on one arm alone. We went to Walmart and got some citronella candles and that helped out tremendously! Pack lightweight long sleeves to cover up at night. -lighting and light switches were confusing - maybe they could be labeled better. It took us a few days to figure them all out. -missing dish towels for washing and drying dishes, we bought some at Walmart -only one television worked (would have been nice to have one or more in the bedrooms or basement but we really didn't use the TV much) Go ahead and book this house! You'll make memories to last a lifetime just like we did!"

  • Wonderful family vacation!

"Our family really enjoyed our stay in New Port Richey. The location of the home is great - right on the water! There was so much to do. We enjoyed the boat rides to the key, fishing, snorkeling, and swimming. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. John, the property manager, was very friendly and helpful. The house is very well stocked with the essentials and clean. The private pool was nice, though the water was very cold (no heater). Overall, we had a great vacation!"

"You can fish and crab on site or go out to the gulf for shark fishing. We have stayed at many homes in this area but this was a totally unique experience because of the rustic feel of the natural waterway and not another man made canal that is common to this area. I rented a pontoon boat and kept it at the homes dock during our stay ( shallow water creek restricts access to gulf 2 hrs before and after low tide mark ). This is a very quiet area with woods all around and only 1 neighbor. A blue heron will stop by everyday to see if you caught any fish for him. House was very clean and nicely decorated. There were kayaks, bicycles, games and fishing stuff available for your use provided by the owners, who were wonderful to deal with and very accommodating. I hope to stay at their wonderful home again."
