  • Comfortable stay

"We were a small golf group looking for a central place to stay as every day was booked solid with golf. There were pro's and con's with this property, first as known Spring Hill is not a vacation spot but the house was in a very central location within easy access to anything one could want. It was in one of the better areas of Spring Hill and a quiet neighborhood. The house had anything one could want as far as utensils, dishes, pots and pans, etc. lacking nothing. It also had plenty of linens comfortable beds, and ample seating. On the con side it appeared that the front door was recently broken into and I had to make a temporary fix to even close it with the door knob, a bit of an uneasy feeling upon arrival. The house is alarmed and the front door had a deadbolt to secure it. The other con was the pool, the water was not clear and you could not see the bottom which made everyone feel uneasy about using it. The pump ran continually and something was not right with the whole set up. We were not needing to use the pool as it was a bit chilly during our stay but it would need to be corrected to use without fear of funny water. Overall the stay was fine and with a small bit of attention it would be fine for anyone wanting that central home base for a visit to Florida."

  • Snow-Birds on the Island

"This was our first time renting a house and first time using VRBO. We were a little tentative at the onset because we are golfers and staying on an island off the beaten path was a deviation from the norm for us. WOW !!! Sure glad we did. What a great vacation spot. Weiland and Carol have thought of everything in this wonderful, meticulous retreat. The view from the screened in porch in the morning and the sunsets across the road are breathtaking. Golfing, Shopping, Restaurants and Sightseeing are all close by making this property a must see for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city."

  • Great Weekend Getaway!

"Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 young children) stayed here during Labor Day weekend 2016. The owners were great in keeping us updated on the condition of the house.(hurricane passed through the area the day before we were to arrive.) The house was cozy - but more than enough room for the four of us. We loved the deck, the firepit, and dock. We were able to utilize the canoe and took a nice trip down the river, stopping at Roger's Park and petting a Manatee and it's pup. The house is very close to a beach (closed for us though) and Weeki Wachee Park. The park was a lot of fun, great water slides, very nice mermaid show, floating dock, and all at an extremely reasonable price. We ate at Upper Deck one night - probably wouldn't go back - overpriced - but wife enjoyed the crab cakes. The other night we used the Grill. Definitely something that has seen better days, but we used some aluminium foil and so it did the trick. Fire pit is Gas - doesn't make a large fire, but good enough to make s'mores and some memories. The kids loved their room and the nice bunk beds in there. The master bedroom was nice and bed was very comfortable. The owners were very nice and came by to clean up the yard on Saturday. We wish we had at least another day there. I highly recommend this house for a couple or small family. One suggestion I have is leave a long lighter for guest to use the grill and fire pit. The nice neighbors let us borrow theirs. A new grill might be in order soon too, but if you use aluminium foil it wasn't a problem for burgers and hot dogs. Bring your fishing rod - lots of fish jumping all around the dock."

  • Comfortable, quiet, relaxing

"We stayed there for a week in early March. Pine Island has about 60 homes and a wonderful small beach park about 100 yards from the house on the gulf. If you're looking for a relaxing, quiet, out of the way vacation this is it. It's about a 7 mile drive to shopping, most restaurants, pharmacy etc. There is a small fast food shack at the park and the Bayport Inn is about a 3 mile drive. Both were very good with especially large portions served at the Bayport. BeckyJack food shack is another mile or so from the house. We didn't try it, but based on the crowds as we drove by, it appears very popular, if a bit unusual. The house and furnishings were nice .... very much as advertised. The house was clean. Met the housekeeper on day one. Nice, helpful young lady. The beds were very comfortable. Towels and linens were in good condition. The TV and WIFI operated well. All appliances and HVAC were in working order. Plenty of hot water. Nice view of the gulf from the MB balcony. Three bikes were available but not used because of the lack of bike lanes to/from the Island. The island itself is too small for biking and there's more traffic than you'd expect because of the beach park. Five very nice kayaks were also available but we choose instead to rent one at the Kayak shack for a great trip on the Weeki Watchi river where we paddled along next to a couple large manatees. If we had a way to transport the bikes and kayaks they would have been Very useful."
