"My husband & I stayed at Gulf Gate Resort condo #507 for 2 1/2 weeks in September, 2016. Our adult daughter joined us the last week. I must say this condo is above & beyond what we expected. We thought the pictures online were beautiful, but the pics don't do it justice. This codominium is much more beautiful in reality ~ it is stunningly gorgeous... Condo #507 is large & roomy & has everything you need for the perfect beach vacation: 1.) A full, newly-remodeled kitchen with a smooth-top stove, granite counter tops, & all the dishes, glasses, cups, bowls, utensils, pots, pans, etc. you need. 2.) Comfortable beds ~ plus the sofa bed has a lovely, brand new queen size mattress. 3.) You don't have to pay a resort fee for beach chairs & umbrellas. #507 has a beach chair & 2 beach umbrellas outside in the balcony closet. Plus there are also beach toys, floaters, pool noodles, & 2 beach balls to play with. If you need more beach chairs, there are additional chairs in the pool BBQ area. Free to borrow! 4.) We didn't have a car & didn't need one. Everything is a short walking distance away ~ numerous restaurants, Publix Grocery Store, Dollar Tree, CVS Pharmacy, & other businesses. And there is a shopping cart in the hall closet. If you do want to travel further, the trolley bus stop is right close by, or you can take the Free Beach Ride taxi service for only a donation. 5.) You are right on beautiful St. Pete Beach... just walk across the foot bridge over the sand dunes, & you're there! 6.) The lightly heated pool is refreshing, & the hot tub is fun & feels great. 7.) In a covered area near the pool, there are barbeques available for use. Bob, the owner, was very friendly, kind, & attentive to our needs. He called us a couple days after we arrived to make sure we had what we needed & that everything was all right. And he again called us before we checked out. What more can I say? Gulf Gate Resort #507 has everything you need & want for the perfect St. Pete Beach vacation! We visited during the off-season, so the price was inexpensive (especially compared to the big-name resorts!)... & we absolutely loved it!"

  • pleasant place to stay

"Pieces of Eight was just what I was looking-for - an economical place to stay with the basic needs for home-style living. The motels in the under $100.00/day category are mostly dumps and you only get a bed(s) and a bathroom. I have visited this area many times over the years and places like this along the beach are pushing their prices too high. Our accommodations were small, but clean and we had everything we needed there,: a bed for two in a bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living/dining area. The fridge and stove worked and we had all the dishes, pots and pans we could use as well as small appliances. The TV was small but where you sit is so close it doesn't matter :-) and there was a working PVR there so that I could record any shows I wanted to watch later. The two air conditioners worked well and were more than enough to cool-off this there were three ceiling fans to help move the air. Water pressure was good. I liked the courtyard and the shade that the trees provided. There was a BBQ available in the second courtyard, along with a table and chairs....unfortunately it was so hot the week we were there that I couldn't bear to use them! The only thing that I suggest is that Steve have some ventilation installed in the bathroom, to pull-out all that moisture from people having a shower. That will help the a/c unit in the bedroom do its job without working 'over-time'. Owner Steve was around every day working around the place and always available for help or just a talk. If something like a light bulb needs replacing when Steve is not around and you don't mind doing it yourself, just go to the laundry room and get one; there are supplies in there. It was handy having the beach right across the street. There are few good restaurants within a reasonable walking distance or a less-than-five-minute drive, and two really good places for ice cream. So, if you don't require all-new hotel-style furniture and amenities or a large living space, Pieces of Eight is a good place to stay at a reasonable price."

  • Great Condo

"The condo had very nice furnishings with a modern flare. We cooked several nights and the kitchen was furnished with everything you could possibly need. The master was spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. The views of the ocean from the living room and balcony were fabulous. The staff at the condo were extremely helpful and friendly, which made our stay even more pleasant. The owner was very accessible and made the rental process extremely easy. Thanks for making our vacation a memorable one!"

  • Vistas on the Gulf

"Wonderful place to stay! Great view, convenient for shopping, beach access, and fun places nearby. I will definitely go back. Clean, comfortable environment. The maintenance man, Mark, was extremely attentive to keep the pool area, public restrooms, and grills clean. Would recommend to others."
