  • Great Condo

"We loved staying at Lands End. It was a beautiful condo with an amazing view. You could see the dolphins jumping right off the balcony and hear the waves crashing. The condo was very well maintained and we will be coming back. We have stayed in other units in the complex and this has been the best!"

  • Great stay!

"We just returned from a 3 night stay at Tropic Terrace in #29. From the initial booking, the owner, Barb Walch , was welcoming and helpful. Very easy to book and check in/out. The office and resort's staff were friendly as well. The condo was clean, well decorated, comfortable and had everything needed for our stay. All we had to do was get groceries and hit the beach! The owners even included 2 beach chairs, an umbrella, and some toys for the kids to use during our stay. This was so helpful, as we were packed tight for a long week in Florida having visited Universal Studios early in the week. Just knowing we didn't have to bring these items from home was a relief. The view from the dining table area was wonderful, and the walk to the beach was quick. King size bed in the bedroom and sofa bed in the living room were spacious an comfortable. The condo complex was clean, very cute and had a retro feel. Lawn and grassy area, as well as landscaping was well kept and pretty. Pool area is modern, clean, and the warm water was great. Pool 9am-9pm hours are perfect to avoid disturbing others, but the complex overall was quiet and peaceful our entire stay. We used the grill, and rec room for ping pong and ice, as well as the laundry area. Never has issues after hours using codes to unlock the doors to common areas. Felt very safe and quiet, also close to shopping and restaurants. Beautiful beach area was clean, not crowded at all, and while we didn't travel very far along the paved beach walkway it seems like a perfect way to get around the area. This was our first trip to Treasure Island. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back. I'd highly recommend TropicTerrace, and #29 specifically. It was a great value and perfect way to finish off our vacation in Florida!"

  • pleasant place to stay

"Pieces of Eight was just what I was looking-for - an economical place to stay with the basic needs for home-style living. The motels in the under $100.00/day category are mostly dumps and you only get a bed(s) and a bathroom. I have visited this area many times over the years and places like this along the beach are pushing their prices too high. Our accommodations were small, but clean and we had everything we needed there,: a bed for two in a bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living/dining area. The fridge and stove worked and we had all the dishes, pots and pans we could use as well as small appliances. The TV was small but where you sit is so close it doesn't matter :-) and there was a working PVR there so that I could record any shows I wanted to watch later. The two air conditioners worked well and were more than enough to cool-off this space....plus there were three ceiling fans to help move the air. Water pressure was good. I liked the courtyard and the shade that the trees provided. There was a BBQ available in the second courtyard, along with a table and chairs....unfortunately it was so hot the week we were there that I couldn't bear to use them! The only thing that I suggest is that Steve have some ventilation installed in the bathroom, to pull-out all that moisture from people having a shower. That will help the a/c unit in the bedroom do its job without working 'over-time'. Owner Steve was around every day working around the place and always available for help or just a talk. If something like a light bulb needs replacing when Steve is not around and you don't mind doing it yourself, just go to the laundry room and get one; there are supplies in there. It was handy having the beach right across the street. There are few good restaurants within a reasonable walking distance or a less-than-five-minute drive, and two really good places for ice cream. So, if you don't require all-new hotel-style furniture and amenities or a large living space, Pieces of Eight is a good place to stay at a reasonable price."
