  • Peaceful, Relaxing, but accessible. A little piece of heaven by the water.

"Arrived late in the night & had an immediate issue with unlocking the door, reluctantly phoned Chris, but even with the hour he could not have been more helpful, assuring us that it was just stiff & we were unlikely to snap the key off in the lock... & we were in. Which is all you can ask for, that any issues you may have are dealt with promptly, which they were. Lovely clean, airy & well presented home, we could not have wished for more, Kitchen was well equipped, lots of books & games, & a lovely place to sit out both day & night (mosquito's were generally only a slight problem, nothing 'Off' wouldnt cure) & the downstairs ... well if you have a teenager after that bit more independence, its perfect for them, its all but self contained & they always appear at mealtimes. Robbies is walkable (about a mile), but you really need a vehicle to access other areas. 5 mins to Islamorada, 25 to Key Largo or Marathon. The Islamorada direction see's you passing frequent places to eat, a couple of tackle shops & a small store or two, closest Larger store is a Winn Dixie at Tavineer (15Mins), but they were advertising the building of a new Publix which would be closer. So our view on the location was very peaceful, with everything very accessible by either road or water, what more could someone want.. We had a boat for the duration & at 22ft was docked without problem, although the channel coming into the boat dyke was very shallow & rocky at the point of entrance from the Atlantic, so some care was needed. Very accessible to both the Atlantic Reefs & Wrecks for great fishing & diving. Also just up from Channel 2 & 5 (about 4miles) which are well known fishing marks, & from there easy access into the flats/Everglades (about 30miles to flamingo) & the Gulf of Mexico, which are all great fishing. Did we like it, YES we loved it. Would we stay there again when we go back to the keys, YES most definitely. Only two small things that I could think of that could make it even better... Include a couple of Kayaks with the property, with it being on the water, they would get so much use. (they can be rented from Robbies, but so much better if they were just their). Kettle for the Kitchen (I know the Brits are mad but we do like our hot Tea or Coffee in the morning), saves boiling it in a saucepan. Thanks Chris for allowing us to Share your wonderful home."

  • Family Fisherman

"An absolutely perfect place to take the family. The best flats fishery in the world just around the corner, snapper galore, and tons of Pelagius. Plenty of room for a large group and more than enough dock space. 5 stars all the way around from the hot tub to the putting green to the summer kitchen and more. Have already booked again for next month. Thank you Norm and Sue"

  • UH-MAZ-ING~you have to go!

"When we first started looking for a place in the Keys we had no idea where to even start. Luckily we happened upon Annie's place! There were 6 of us (4 adults, 2 teens) so I needed something roomy enough that we wouldn't trip over each all day, especially for a 10-day vacation! This little gem was perfect! It is so comfortable and homey the second you walk in. The decor is beachy-cool and modern. The beds are SUPER comfortable (and I am a princess and the pea kind of girl!). Annie was so helpful getting us set up with good places to eat (Marker 88 is an absolute MUST for sunsets and cocktails and it's walking distance up the road). The pool area is quiet but we never felt like were bothering anyone. There are quite a few older residents, so I was a little leery with 2 teenagers, but no one ever gave us dirty looks! LOL The kitchen is well equipped, we had all the pots and pans we needed, plastic wine glasses, spices in the cupboard, coffee maker, toaster, etc. Being from SoCal, we are spoiled with our beaches. We learned soon that there aren't really any swimming beaches in the Keys. You really need to be on a boat in order to go in the ocean. We rented a boat from the place by Island Grill and spent the day going from the Ocean to the Gulf. Highly recommended! Maybe because it was December, there were jellyfish aplenty in the bay out side our unit. No swimming happening there! But none of that matters. We would walk out to the point and watch the sunset. There's a fire pit too so get some firewood when you go to Winn Dixie! We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation!"

  • Wonderful - we will return

"We have rented lots of houses in the US, some good, some bad - this was one of the very best. After a long journey from the UK, we were delighted to arrive at this beautiful house, it went far beyond our expectations. It was lovely to stay in a house, which was clean, well equipped and beautifully presented. Likewise it was great to be provided with a detailed information pack, prior to our arrival, by Steve the owner. The house has all of the amenities needed, for a stress free and relaxing holiday. All of the fittings and furnishings are of a high standard and it all makes for a luxurious holiday experience. The kitchen is fully stocked with all you need and a trip to the nearby store, enabled us to eat in the house, whilst enjoying the views and the breathtaking sunsets. This property has the best location on Anglers Reef, overlooking the ocean, away from the Highway and in a secluded and peaceful spot. We spent time on the decks, simply gazing at the ocean, watching the comings and goings of boats and kayaks and were entertained by a wide variety of exotic birds and wildlife. We hired a boat and enjoyed a fabulous afternoon on the ocean. On return to the boat dock, we were met by a manatee - what a wonderful experience to have - a memory which will stay with us for ever. We loved using the pool and on many afternoons, had it to ourselves. The pool is lovely, clean and well cared for and again offers fabulous views. When we met other guests and residents, they were friendly and keen to chat to us. There are several places to eat close to the house, which was great and meant we could enjoy a meal and drinks, without worrying about driving. We visited Key West and enjoyed a visit to Ernest Hemingway's home (especially good for fellow cat lovers), we fished with a knowledgeable guide, catching bone fish and tarpon and all in all, had a fabulous and memorable holiday. Thank you Steve, for sharing your wonderful home with us."
