  • Lower. Matecumbe Bayview

"My wife and I rented this home for the month of July . Natalee met me at the home for check in and was very courteous and professional. Home was fabulous, with the absolute best view from every room in the house. Everything in the home was new, and included everything we needed for our months vacation. All appliances were high end and trouble free. The home was very clean and secure. Great parking behind security gate, with plenty of room for parking our large boat trailer in driveway outside of gate. Private, secure dockage for our boat was great, as was able to leave fishing and diving gear on boat and dock without any issues. Great little beach for launching our kayak. Grandkids loved seeing all the fish and baby iguanas from the dock. Newly installed impact glass throughout house eliminated any noise from nearby highway. Nice to have a second, full size refridgerator in the down stairs room for keeping our daily drinks cold for the boat, without having to go upstairs to the main kitchen. Would definately stay here again, as waking up every morning to that amazing bay view was a great way to start the day !"

  • Mermaid Cove-Great Get Away!

"When my extended family of six arrived at Mermaid Cove, we found a beautifully decorated, airy, and spacious three bedroom home, with a decided island kick-back vibe. The kitchen was well-equipped with every manner of pan and gadget, and the propane grill could easily cook for a crowd. There are stools at the bar in the kitchen, a full dining room, or dine al fresco waterside. A covered, screened porch is a draw for coffee in the morning, a quiet spot to watch the world go by, or for a cocktail, while the grill is heating up. The house is spotlessly clean, with every amenity provided. The two bedrooms on the second floor are large and filled with light, each with a good-sized hot, steamy bath/shower. The master suite is a delightful hideaway upstairs, with a luxurious Jacuzzi, and roomy, tasteful accommodations. There is high-speed Internet and an enormous flat-screen television, and a sound system that pipes music throughout. The double set of double doors facing the water open fully to add to the "bring the outdoors in" feel, on this perfect weekend in February. The mornings were a crisp 70 degrees, rising to 78 by midday. There is central air conditioning throughout, though we never felt the need to turn it on; ceiling fans throughout the house and porch were perfect. It is a beautiful retreat in a friendly canal-laced neighborhood on the Gulf side of Islamorda. Bayside, you have access to a private beach with cabanas and grills. It’s a great place to grab some rays, relax and watch the sunset. Oceanside, Anne’s Beach, a favorite with the kite boarders, is just a mile up the road. We rarely felt the need to leave the neighborhood but, at mile marker 74, it is an easy hour drive from Miami or to Key West and a vast array of restaurants and nightlife. The location is central to Islamorada water sports: fishing, diving, boating, kayaking, kiteboarding, and paddle boarding. You can even swim with dolphins (or so I am told) nearby. If you bring your boat, there is dockage on the canal behind the house. I love to bike and enjoyed the dedicated bike paths in the Keys. They go on for miles Although there are some good restaurants in the area, the best meals we had, we prepared. There is seafood market nearby, Mr. Lobster. They sell fresh lobster, fish, shrimp and stone crab. It’s daily catch right off the boat. There is a Publix supermarket in Islamorada where you can purchase supplies. It was a relaxing refuge and we left recharged and invigorated."

  • Wonderful spot for a Keys vacation

"This is our family's second visit to the Kaufman's wonderful home. The house is clean, comfortable and perfect for an easy Keys vacation. The kitchen is well equipped and the lovely screened in porch is a great place for meals. The Kaufmans could not be easier to work with or more accommodating. On both visits we have had kayaks delivered to the dock from the local outfitter and love the easy paddling access out to the bay for fishing and exploring. We look forward to a third visit."

  • Backyard Delight

"This property's obvious allure is it's backyard. The pool with waterfall and lights at night are awesome. The backyard gets full day sun and you can watch the sunset right from the dock. We had manatees hang out at the dock for hours one day. There are a ton of Lobsters under the dock and the canals in Venetian shores are 50ft+ deep! We did see a shark or two in the canals while we were there, so lots of fish and wildlife activity present. It is a pretty home, the stairwell layout is a lot of up & down, but there is an elevator if you need it. The neighbor to the west is not good, but the neighbor to the east more than makes up for it. He is awesome. Very friendly, helpful, considerate and has been in the keys there for 30+ years. He is a snowbird like me, and so a lot of the decisions of why I wanted to rent in the keys for a long period he had answers to. He gave us some great spots, minutes from this property to go check out, by boat, and they were spectacular. I was a bit apprehensive about bringing my boat down, 35' center console and leaving it in the water the whole time and not having a lift, but the canal is extremely calm, even on the windiest days. That I attribute to the extremely deep water, great design. I bet I could've skipped even using my bumpers it was that calm. Plenty of room, electric & water are right there, as well as a wonderful fish cleaning station. I would definitely recommend this property and Joe is awesome to work with. I'm from MN, so I had the master bedroom A/C on 69 and about two weeks into our stay it stopped one day and Joe had someone out there within hours and had it resolved. He is very easy to reach and very courteous."
