  • Open Water Paradise

"Have you ever read reviews where the person starts out by saying something like 'I didn't really want to write a review because I wanted to keep this place to myself'. I always thought that those type of comments were a little on the selfish side. I mean if you stayed some place that you really liked then why not write a nice favorable review right? Then my wife and I stayed about 11 nights in the Garden Villa at Sue's Promise last month in January. Now I don't think those comments are so selfish any more. However I do not mind sharing. Sue's Promise is a private tropical beach house. It has 2 downstairs Villas. Owner is Charlie and his wife Terry. They are SO nice. Best of all Sue's Promise is NOT ON A CANAL. If you know anything about the Keys the vast majority of vacation rentals are although advertised as waterfront are actually located on some small canal with the neighbors right on top of you. Not at Sue's Promise though. This is a real open water front beauty. Very private as well. I used to live for many years in the Caribbean on an island off the coast of Honduras and I must say that the foliage (coconut palms, sea grapes, orchids and etc.) and wild/sea life (iguanas, spotted rays, colorful tropical fish, manatees and etc.) are very similar right there at Sue's Promise. We felt like we were 'back home'. The Garden Villa itself is good sized and very adequately stocked with start up supplies of basic essentials. So nice not to have to run to the store immediately for coffee or whatever. Needless to say we will be returning hopefully sometime this year. Thanks again Charlie and Terry!! What a gem you have......"

  • Great Family Memories!

"We stayed at the Waterfront Paradise property for my dad's retirement and my mom's 60th Birthday celebration. Papa and his grandson got to stay in the apartment downstairs and stay up late watching shows and making midnight snacks, while the upstairs was perfect for the rest of our family. The house had everything we needed, location was perfect, we brought our boat and having it right there at the dock was great to take it out anytime we wanted. Fishing was great! We had manatees and fish just off the dock that we all enjoyed watching. My only suggestion would be to have a larger outdoor eating option maybe on the deck as it's so beautiful outside there! Tropical paradise, we loved it! Thanks so much Michael and Jessica for the wonderful memories!"

  • Wonderful vacation condo

"My husband and I loved the location of this condo and how spacious the condo feels. We like having a well equipped kitchen in case we do no want to go out to eat. We had a slight issue when we first arrived and the air conditioning wasn't working, but we called Rich and it was so simple - just new batteries in the thermostat. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back again. The only reason I didn't give this a five star is that the TV's are somewhat outdated and usually I wouldn't care but with two days of rain we pretty much stayed in the condo. Rich was very easy to work with and made the trip that much more enjoyable."

  • Angler's Reef is a beautiful place to stay!

"Lovely home ... had everything we needed and was centrally located for touring many of the Keys. Beautiful pool (and boat access if you have a boat) and lovely grounds here but close to History of Diving Museum, Turtle Hospital, and Theatre of the Sea if you would like to see them. We also rode to Key West and stoped at the Key Deer Refuge and Baha'i Honda State Park (1 1/2-2 hours). Key Largo's John Pennekamp State Park with Glass bottom boat rides is less than half hour away in the other direction. Plenty of great restaurants and places to view the gorgeous Florida sunsets!"
