  • Darby's favorite vacation spot

"I can’t say enough about the hospitality and the beautiful property of Mitchell’s Bayview Villa. This will be our 4th stay and our first stay in the Bayview. The weather was so beautiful and you just feel like you are in your own home! Your place is a paradise! Our Goldador Darby just loved staying there and watching all the wildlife. The fenced in patio made it so nice for her!! Thanks again Bob and Phyllis for a wonderful stay and we look forward to seeing you next year! Ro and Jay Baker"

  • Great Vacation, Great Location !!

"My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we walked in with a view of the Ocean from the Living Room and both Bedrooms. Having the screened balcony with access from both bedrooms and the living room was a huge plus. The unit is larger than a lot of condo's in the area and sits off Overseas Highway on a quiet street. The master actually has two full sized beds and bath with double vanity and nice large shower. We used the other bedroom with one full size bed, and master bath since it was just the two us. The unit was well equipped from wireless internet to a wine opener. There is only one flat screened tv (none in bedrooms) with cable channels. We had our laptop and with our Netflix it was no problem to watch tv in bed (bring HDMI cord if you want play laptop through living room tv). The pool was very nice and I cannot say enough about the location. There is a Supermarket, movie theater, drug store, fast food, restaurants, kayak and boat rental a mile away and several waterfront restaurants just a few miles further. We rented a tandem kayak from Paddles ($35. 00 for the day and less than a mile away) launched from their beach and explored the mangrove tunnel. We drove 10 miles to go on our lobster charter at Bud and Mary's Marina great time and had our lobster prepared by Snapper Restaurant. Our favorite for waterfront dining was Loreleis Cabana Bar And Restaurant. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner the food was good and the sunsets and evening music were great (get there early for a table for sunsets) it is only eight miles away at Marker 82. The Marker 88 Restaurant was also nice for waterfront lunch or dinner and had a nice little beach where adults can get a drink on the beach while your kids could enjoy the water. There is also a $45.00 per person half day deep sea fishing boat very close by. We left early one morning to drive to Key West (2 hours) and did the sea plane charter to Dry Tortuga Park, it was a great experience and the sea plane verses the ferry was a great choice. The easy parking (no boat parking), elevator, trash shoot and convenience of (coin laundry on each floor if needed) just added to the convenience of this small complex. We did not have a boat, but met a family staying in the complex (repeat renters) that made arrangements for their boat at a near by marina. The owner, John was very easy to work and allowed us to arrive and leave mid week since the unit was available. We will stay at his condo again."

  • Wonderful

"We totally enjoyed our week at this condo. This condo was better than the pictures! It was clean and comfortable. Kitchen had all utensils you would need. Beds comfortable. The view from the lanai was amazing! We could have sat there all day. We enjoyed the pool. Restaurants close, charter fishing close. We are hoping we can make it back next year."

  • Tropical Paradise/Exec. Bay #358023

"My family of four--two adults, two teens--spent a wonderful week here. The property is exactly as pictured, and in excellent and clean condition. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped; I was especially pleased to have even a coffee bean grinder so I could enjoy my favorite coffees. I don't remember how many people the unit claims to sleep. The MBR is great with a comfortable king bed; the 2nd bedroom has two queens--great for my teens to stretch out in. That 2nd BR also has a bunk bed, so two more children could sleep. In a small loft area above this room, accessible by ladder, there is a sleeper sofa. The person sleeping up there would have to be old enough to be careful coming down the ladder if necessary in the middle of the night, and young enough to be able to do so! With the two sofas downstairs (regular, not sleeper sofas), you could go up to 9. One thing I think is important is that there is a circular staircase (in most if not all of these Executive Bay Units, I believe) that isn't so easy to negotiate. My husband has ankle/Achilles issues, and he managed, albeit slowly and carefully; my teens and I were OK, but anyone with an issue might want to consider this. The back beach area--something that was very important to us--was really nice. You should know, however, that, like most areas in the Keys, it's not a beach with a gradual, sandy decline into the water. There is actually a little wall, maybe 1.5-2.0 feet, and then the water, with rocks, etc. My point is that I wouldn't walk from the lounger directly down into the water without water shoes, because it's a rough walk! It can be done, but I would definitely recommend water shoes so that you're comfortable. This back area is wonderful, however, and we thoroughly enjoyed sunbathing, watching the sunset, the boats coming and going, etc. The boats and lighthouse are very scenic, and the covered pier is wonderful to hang out with your fisher-folk, etc. I think there might be a fish -cleaning station too. The aquatic life is wonderful--we saw rays and many fish from the pier and while snorkeling the area. There are small barracuda, but as any snorkeler/diver knows, they don't want to bother you. My one complaint is that the propane tank on grill was empty; we didn't want to use precious time to refill tank and get reimbursed, so we had to do without. About 1.5 hr from MIA, 1.5 to Key West. Great area; responsive owner. Would definitely consider staying again."
