  • Great spot for the whole family

"It was a pleasant surprise to see the location of this house. It was at the end of a canal of mangroves, not too far of a boat ride to the ocean to do some snorkeling or to go further out to do some fishing. It was also a short drive to John Pennekamp State park. The house was beautifully decorated and had plenty of room for the 12 people we had in our group. The kitchen was great with large fridge and new washer and dryer that we used quite a bit! The pictures of the pool does not do it justice, it was against the house and stay shaded on one side and very clean. They had 2 kayaks that came with the house so we were able to enjoy time kayaking through the mangroves (we found manatees, a mom and 2 babies). The kids (and adults) really enjoyed having a pool table and ping pong table when it got too hot outside. There were 3 bedrooms upstairs (one master with an on suite and the other 2 bedrooms shared a bathroom) and also 2 bedrooms downstairs. My only negative would be there were no bathrooms downstairs, so whoever slept downstairs had to walk upstairs to use the restroom! I would, without a doubt, stay here again. Key Largo is definitely not as 'busy' as a little further south like Islamorada, but still have some great stores and restuarants to visit. I suggest going to Bayside Grille to watch the sunset and sit downstairs, they had great food and the bartenders/waiters did an amazing job keeping up with the crowd. We were taking this trip to spend time together as a family and the location of the house and activities we could do without leaving the house made that possible. Raisa and her husband were very kind in making sure we had a great stay. Thanks again!"

  • Fantastic Rental

"The family stayed during Thanksgiving week and had a wonderful time. We loved the big porch with plenty of seating. The place was clean and modern inside everything was in great working condition. We caught snapper from the dock and went boating every day. This was a family vacation we will never forget. My kids are already asking when we can go back to Bill and Kathy's place."

  • Great find!

"Stayed here for two weeks with my daughter and her husband, my son and his wife and my three granddaughters aged 9,7 and 5. We chose this place after extensive research online. As we were visiting from the United Kingdom we wanted to be sure that it was exactly right for our needs - a base from which to explore the Keys and somewhere to relax and have fun. It was perfect for us. The pool was just great and it was difficult to persuade the children to get out! None of us tired of the stunning view from the house and beach and we took back some amazing photographs. We didn't know what s'mores were but quickly did some online research and made good use of the fire ring to make some! We're now experts. The house itself was perfect for our needs… Particularly the kitchen area which was well stocked and ideal for socialising in the evenings round the big central island. The outside space provided some ideal spots to relax in the shade or bask in the sun. We loved the peaceful, private location of the house/beach but with restaurants and supermarkets so close by we had the best of both worlds. Lots of magical moments in, on and by the ocean with some fabulous memories to take home."

  • Great outside space, hot indoor space.

"My family vacationed here for a week prior to dropping my son, husband and friend at Boy Scout Sea Base High Adventure. We were with 4 teenage boys (and two grandparents) looking for something with amenities that would keep these active scouts busy. We were drawn to the kayaks and waterfront location with close proximity to good snorkeling. The outside of the house totally delivers. It is exactly as the pictures show. The tiki equipped with hammock and hammock chairs was terrific but we spent most of the time on the beach, enjoying the sea breeze and fishing from the bulkhead. There is no pier or dock but if you do not have a boat, there is plenty of room to fish. You will need a FL license if you are over 16. Check with your local bait shop for regulations and bait recommendations (we loved Brenda across the street at Capt Pete's who is a wealth of knowledge!) A few things to note about the property: I would not consider this a 3 bedroom. Yes it does have the beds that it states however the lower level is one large open room that has 2 beds in what is largely a family room with large sectional and television. It is more of a studio. We had planned on my parents staying here but it did not give them any privacy from the teenagers and there is no inside staircase that leads to the upstairs. One must go outside and use the front stairs or the spiral staircase out back. Not a problem when the weather was nice but there were several severe thunderstorms throughout the week which I understand is a regular occurance in the summer. Also, the air condition is not adjustable. It is set to 81 degrees (which was hot and not very comfortable for my mom who suffers from asthma) during the day and appears to come on full blast late in the evening, leaving everyone searching for blankets in the middle of the night and early morning. Lastly, do not expect anyone to sleep in the terraced area during the warm weather months. The owners ask that you keep the sliding doors closed during the day and open them after 8 pm. This room was unbearably hot and two of the boys were forced to sleep on loveseats and sofas in the cooler living room. There is no ice maker which is a bummer when frozen drinks are on the bar menu. It is vacation after all! If you plan on snorkeling in the sound, make sure you stop and pick up a dive flag at any local grocery store, Walgreens or dive shop."
